He said that his Grandad and family say Alves (rhymes with valves) but he quite likes Al-ves. He's not bothered either way. -

What's the lastest on Evans? -
What's the latest on this? If Carranza isn't going to be good enough then going through to at least January without a no. 9 will be our undoing.

Like the positivity in this post but it would need a rewrite if those last 3 minutes had swung the other way. Fine margins and all that. -

Just catching up with the second series of Freddie Flintofts Field of Dreams on iPlayer. Very inspiring. Plus the second episode had a youth in Liverpool wearing a City shirt (the blue sash Thunderbirds away). Good lad

A word of caution on car rentals. Arrived at Venice airport last week with a car rental previously booked online at a cost of approx £395 for seven days (4 adults plus luggage). Turned up at the Sicily by Car desk to collect key etc but they insisted on seeing the physical plastic credit card used for the online booking. It was booked in my son-in-laws name but he only ever uses a virtual card on his phone. They wouldn't complete the booking or even transfer to another member of our party. The outcome was to cancel the booking (losing £90 odd deposit) and rebooking in my daughters name with a physical card. The online discount was no longer available and the cost had now risen to £1,311!!!!! Had to pay it as we needed a car for the weeks travel around Tuscany. Looking at doing a credit card section 75 claim but not confident. Anyone else had this misfortune?
-
Too late to get it rescinded now.
-
Doesnt say how long the contract is for?

I'm in the Tuscan hillside in 31c. No one around here knows what Cov is. But they all know Leicester City. We are massive.

That's only if you see 'moderates' as the far right?

I couldn't vote for Labour at the last election mainly due to what I saw as a dishonest campaign. They promised the economy was safe in their hands, fully costed and budgeted, with no tax rises and an end to the abject failure of the Conservatives. I'm not sure the public were conned in to believing most of their pledges as the electorate just wanted change and to punish the last lot. They could've got elected without the nastiness. The rehearsed soundbites, £22b black hole, 14 years of the Conservatives etc over and over has turned people off. The new Home Office minister even used the further and faster thing on her first day! Just stop it! The one thing you can say about Reform is they are the only party holding the Governments feet to the fire in such strong terms. Labour need to get a grip and soon. I really, really want Labour to turn this around but I dont have confidence they have the ability or know how to do it. For the first time ever, I didnt vote in the last election as I couldn't endorse any party.

I think those that you describe are a very small minority that are being rapidly marginalised by the overwhelming shift in public opinion. Labour promised change but have brought just more chaos and sleaze. I dont know who can get a grip of this. It's all very unsettling.

I travel 140 odd miles each way to sit in my season ticket seat. Missed the Brum match as the motorway network on a Friday night is impossible. Virtually given up on midweek matches now. Refunds beyond the resale allowance need to be offered for all matches moved for TV coverage. Keep saying it but there's really not much point in having a season ticket for a travelling fan. Be a sad day when I give it up but I'm almost at that point.

I'm not familiar with Charlie Kirk but after reading Starmers message of condolence, would he have been gaoled if he were British?

trivialities ? No suggestion ? BBC News - More embarrassing Epstein exchanges to come, says Mandelson https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/c5yevwvvneyo
-
Amongst Starmer's deflection and waffling, he said that he has full confidence in Mandelson. What he didn't answer was if he knew about his ties to Epstein before he appointed him as UK Ambassador in Washington. He wasn't expected to be guessing and not political theatre to expect an answer to what he knew. His attempt to squirm his way out of it has made things worse for him. This is far more serious than gossip.
-
You hope it is, and it usually is. However, this is potentially dynamite.
-
That said, today at PMQ's, Badenoch got Starmer to say that he fully supports Mandelson. If it transpires that he really did not know about the timings of his relationship with Epstein then he'll likely get away with it by simply sacking him. If however he did know then it will be curtains for him.
