It was when we won the league PL - Leicester FA Cup - Man Utd League Cup - Man City Community Shield - Arsenal

It's 4 games, including the one against Leicester in November 2022. He got people to bet on him getting booked and the made sure he got booked in all 4 games (allegedly). I think that's frowned upon more than what the likes Toney and Tonali did, so expect a decent ban.

Do PM's normally do a party political broadcast when announcing a General Election? You got 6 weeks for this Rishi, just crack on and tell us you're calling an election.

Luke Thomas v Man Utd Not the best, most have already been mentioned, but was worth a mention in the thread.

Weird thing to have an issue with. Guehi has only 9 caps and has earned his place when called up, Eze only has 2 caps and arguably should have been called up earlier and have more. Palace have been I fantastic form lately, so if Eze or Olise (should he decide to play for England) get in I wouldn't have a problem. The only other players from Palace are one of the two keepers as third choice and we have such a lack of goalkeeping talent right now, Johnstone and Henderson are about as good as we'll get for a 3rd choice. No other English Palace players apart from Clyne way back have caps or recent call ups so it's hardly like he filling the squad with Palace players.

Did you check this with Bert first?

Glad Usyk won. Never been a fan of Fury and the comments about Usyk only winning because he's Ukrainian and people sided with a country at war were pathetic and exactly why I don't like him.

I use the Sky Sports Score app and it says its on Main Event.

That not true is it. We basically won it 2 years ago. Pick someone who can sing whatever song they chose to perform well and we stand a better chance. Its subjective whether you like any of the songs, but you can deny Sam Ryder put on a great show and belted out the vocals brilliantly. This year and last both sounded like they'd got the mic turn down to the lowest setting, to interested in the dance routine than the vocals. I think prior to that we had that James Newman who sang like he had a sore throat. The list could go on, but we basically sent 25 years of dross performed badly and then we complain we don't get votes.

Because it's members of the European Broadcasting Union (plus Australia). Its been going since the late 50's before the EU was a thing. There's more countries in the EBU than there are in Europe. 56 countries with 20 associate nations too, but there's only 44 geographically in Europe and only 27 of those are in the EU, so there's plenty who do Eurovision that are either not geographically in Europe, not in the EU or both.
-
Because it's nothing to do with the EU. The winners have never been a member of the EU. Israel isn't in Europe or the EU, nor is Armenia.

Sorry but no. They've been a top flight side since 1979. Since 2011 They've finished 2nd, 5th, 3rd, 4th, 4th, 3rd, 12th, 5th, 4th, 5th, 6th, 3rd and 6th. The 12th is their anomaly, that would be an overachievement for us. They've won the German cup and were runners up a few years ago. They've been in a Champions league final in 2001, and won the UEFA Cup in the 80's. They had a fantastic season and to go unbeaten in all competitions is a great achievement but let's not pretend this is some yo yo club who've had zero past success suddenly coming good. It'd be like Spurs or Villa doing it over here. It'd be a shock and would be praised but it wouldn't be anywhere near Leicester coming from nowhere to win the league.

Well actually most good players and strikers are able to weigh up the percentages and chose the right option in the crunch moments. Taking responsibility would be choosing the best option for the team, not what's going add another goal to your tally. There's plenty of players who've scored lots of goals, even more than Kane in some cases who would pass when he shoots.
-
I didn't say he never passed, but when it comes to the really important moments he chooses to go alone, going for personal glory over team success.

I don't hate Kane but I'm a big critic of his. I posted about it in the Champions league thread. He's only interested in personal accolades and isn't a team player. He'll see this a great season, whilst it's been Bayerns worst in over a decade. I also think when people, well certainly when I, mention his lack of trophies, it's not through hate, it's just making the point he's a very good player and every other player who has numbers like him has at least a League Cup winners medal. So he's failed. If you go through the 100 club in the Premier League for example, every other player on the list apart from Le Tissier has won at least one trophy He seems like a nice bloke and there's rarely controversy around him, but he doesn't turn up in the crucial games, and he's a selfish player who puts his personal accolades above the team. And for that reason I will continue to criticise him. He'll never win a trophy until he lose that side of him. And whilst he seems a nice person, those traits are not ones i value in sportsperson who is part of a team. So it's not hate, it's bit of dislike of him as a player and disappointed in him that such a quality player is going to end their career without winning anything because they can't see the bigger picture of being part of a team.

Champions League Thread 2023/2024

And I think his only other goal was a penalty. I also read his goal to game ratio in games QF onward is something like a quarter of what it is the rest if the time. I appreciate that Bayern probably were 2nd best last night, and in isolation, it's not solely Kane fault, but for a player who scores as many as he does, who is praised for his all round play, his performances over numerous crucial games for club and country haven't been good enough, he's done very little when it really matters. A lot of his goals and assists come in games where his team has won 5-0 and he's chipped in a couple. He's scored 44 for Bayern this year I think, which is no mean feat, but how much would Bayern swap on of those goals in a 5-0 win for him to score last night? How much would Spurs have preferred he squared the ball from a tight angle rather than shoot v Liverpool back in 2016 when they drew 1-1, in the same weekend Vardy in a similar position squared to Mahrez in a 1-0 win over Palace. This is Kanes issue, he's not a team player or a big game player and is just interested in personal accolades. He doesn't see the pass that will get his team a win if he sees a 0.1% chance of scoring. Kane will see this season as a great success, whilst it's been Bayerns worst in 12 years. -

He also gave the ball away numerous times, I think he completed 4 passes all night. His all round play is often praised, so where was he dropping deep, or holding the ball up or bring his teammates into play. He's often praised for creating something from nothing, where was that? Truth its rarely there when his team truly needs it. Its there at 3-0 up against a relegation threatened team, but in the clutch moments, he doesn't stand up to the test.
