Champions League Thread 2023/2024
Jimothy replied to SecretPro's topic in General Football and Sport
Kane goes missing in a big game again. Can't think of him ever delivering in a big game for club or country. Euro Final, WC semi, 2016 run in, CL Final. He's a very good goal scorer, but a hat trick against Swansea, Panama or Koln in a big win, but failing to deliver in tight games especially against rival is why he's destined to win nothing. -
Is this news. I'm sure the meeting is standard anyway and the rumours have been around for weeks. But present it like this and it makes it sound like something is happening.

I don't think they are safe. They play an in form Chelsea next week, whilst Burnley play an out of sorts Spurs. There's a chance Burnely pull off a win, and I can't see Forest getting anything v Chelsea. Means it's down to a final day shoot out v Burnley at Turf Moor.

I've got a Samsung z fold 5. If anyone else has one, what case would you recommend? I've had one that was bulky and i didn't like and another that broke after a few month. The way it has to fix the the phone with the adhesive strips isn't secure and the thin piece of plastic on the left of the front screen is prone to bending and that's what eventually broke. Anyone found a decent case?

Got 5 aside at half 8 tonight, leave at about 7:45 and about 9:45. So hopefully Jones had a little bit of a fight back to take it past 10pm.

The club should really have done a limit on purchases, but people find a way round these things, like buying from various stalls etc. It's just selfishness from the people buying them all up. My sister drove down from Huddersfield the morning of the game, there's no chance she arrives at the stadium in time to buy one when they are all sold out so early. So my nephew, who loves getting the programme missed out. All from greedy people trying to profit off them. Don't buy them of Ebay at inflated prices, you just encourage these people. Let them be stuck with 20 programmes and massively out of pocket. I did have to laugh though at a Facebook post yesterday where someone was complaining about the lack of programmes and the first reply was someone offering to sell him some copies and the original poster was really thankful. He's part of the reason he couldn't buy one in the first place ffs

You're giving Philps too much credit. He's thick but he ambitious. He's the Tory whipping boy, they send him out to defend the indefensible or to talk about really controversial stuff, because they know he'll do it as he thinks any exposure is good exposure, and they know probably say something stupid which is what the headline will be about, rather than whatever disgusting thing they are currently up to.

From game 28 to 36 when the title was confirmed these are the results and the game played first is listed first. We didn't play at the same time as far I can see. 28 Leicester 2 - 2 WBA West Ham 1 - 0 Spurs 29 Spurs 2 -2 Arsenal Watford 0 - 1 Leicester 30 Villa 0 - 1 Spurs Leicester 1 - 0 Newcastle 31 Palace 0 - 1 Leicester Spurs 3 - 0 Bournemouth 32 Liverpool 1 - 1 Spurs Leicester 1 - 0 Southampton 33 Sunderland 0 - 2 Leicester Spurs 3 - 0 Man Utd 34 Leicester 2 - 2 West Ham Stoke 0 - 4 Spurs 35 Leicester 4 - 0 Swansea Spurs 1 - 1 West Brom 36 Leicester 1 - 1 Man Utd Chelsea 2 - 2 Spurs So we did play first 5 out of those 8 games. Spurs only won once in the games they played first and draw the other 2. Both times they drew we took advantage and won. We also followed up their early win by winning out later game. Of the 5 games we played first we dropped points on 3 occasions. Spurs reacted to that by losing 1, drawing 1 and winning 1. Facts are they had chances to put pressure on and failed. They had chances to react to us slipping up and failed.
