  1. "John, there's rumours that Salah wants out of Liverpool and he's willing to show what he can do in a relegation battle!" "Alright Steve, let me look into it. Are you sure?" "Yeah, I've got it on good authority, I know it's weird and seems beyond the realms of possibility, but it's definitely something we need, he'll really push Wilf for that starting spot as our creative player!" "Ok Steve, I'll make some calls. Are you sure you really want this guy?" " Yes John, I must have Mohammed!" A few days later ..... "Here you go Steve, I got the guy you said you wanted......"
  2. With him, Fatawu, Mavadidi and Buonanotte behind Vardy we should be ok going forward So let's all get used to Reid, Ayew and Ndidi to play instead Seriously though if this guy is as good as we want him to be (or are led to believe he can be) Winks/Skipp Fatawu Buonanotte El Khannouss Stephy Vardy Could be decent?
  3. True, but we've openly said we need a striker because we're short of options. I really wouldn't be too surprised if we did go in for him, the Muppets in charge of our transfers are capable of anything, but surely they're not stupid enough to sign an injured striker to give us back up to our other injured striker?
  4. Wouldn't put it passed us to do that, but surely we're not bringing in an injured striker because we have a striker out due to injury......
  5. I'm not disagreeing with you that there is a level of incompetence when it comes to our transfers strategy, but the fact remains that we don't know what's going on in the offices behind closed doors. We could have always been looking to sell him, they might have only just decided that they need to in order to fund a move for someone else. We don't know what's happening, we never will know all the facts. But back to my original points, literally every other club is doing, or has done, the same as us. The rules are to blame on this occasion more than the egits in charge
  6. He's injured
  7. Oh, didn't realize you worked at the club and knew every little detail about what we're doing and when
  8. We'll probably bring in a striker, it just won't be this one
  9. Not being trying to be greedy, but I'd still want a left back too Just don't think VK fits in. That being said, I suppose we can't have it all, and although I (and probably all us) know it's going to end up tomorrow with us all constantly refreshing thread after thread, sky sports news on in the back ground, clinging on to every single link and end at 11pm with no other additions, it's not been that bad
  10. Won't be Broja, his move to Ipswich is likely off because of injury and Chelsea were insisting on an obligation to buy. Mind you, wouldn't put it passed us to still take him on, agree to the obligation, not see him until after Christmas
  11. At this point we'd like to welcome viewers from the Bilal El Khannouss thread. You haven't missed much, this still isn't happening
  12. How in anyway does that make us a ridiculous club? It's literally what every other club is doing because of PSR
  13. Weirdly, this has a strong resemblance to Rudkin in those photos of him in our brown training tracksuit
  14. Derby or Forest then
  15. More likely he'll be coming down the A50 through Stoke
  16. This window reminds me very much of a "Martin O'Neill transfer window" Nothing too exciting (not counting Fatawu as he was already done) but solid type players with experience and not spending too much (relatively)
  17. Careful, Enzo might still read foxestalk and Chelsea are about to make a £100million bid
  18. Daka has pace, he's very quick, without the ball, and he never makes the right run, that's why you don't see his pace because he doesn't use it. What he lacks is football intelligence. Without movement, pace very rarely counts for anything. It's always been my main argument for why Adama Traoré is hugely over rated. Very quick, very strong, no end product.
  19. Erm...... Is Nigeria not in Africa anymore?? I know nothing about this guy, I'm not going to pretend I've watched loads of Belgian football in the last year or so, it right now I'd take any signing that seems to add a bit of flair to the attack
  20. So using your own analogy, if you forget all about your times tables, too simple and have no use, are you going to do well in your Maths A level? Absolutely not What else do you suggest for tonight? Playing none of the 1st team squad, get knocked out, learn absolutely nothing and morale takes a hit? Play all the 1st 11 stuff them, still learn nothing (by your admission) have them go into Saturday a bit more leggy? We did the right thing tonight. Gave minutes to those on the fringes i.e. Mavadidi and Ricardo to keep morale high, tried out a slightly different system to what we have been playing, not our fault Tranmere didn't offer much, gave minutes to a couple of youngsters, new faces found there way a bit more in actual competition and we got the job done comfortably. As I said, we're talking about a guy who been here for 2 months, of course he doesn't know his best 11 yet. I'm sure he has ideas, I'm sure he has his style and his system, but so far has only seen 270 minutes of competitive football to see if he needs to tweak his ideas and his systems or if he can make the players he's got fit into them. Financially, we all know it's uncertain, we still don't know what our punishment is going to be and you're talking like he's a manager who's been here for years.
  21. There's a certain amount of distance between your comments and your username ........ Took O'Neil 7 or 8 games to get his messages across, Fergie was famously very close to the sack before he managed to get things right, even Pep got a lot wrong in his 1st season at Man City. We're not talking about a manager in his 2nd season at the club with a few squad changes through the summer. We're talking about a guy who came in relatively late, in uncertain times, trying to to figure out a way of getting the best from a squad. I'm still hugely unsure on Cooper, I wasn't a fan of his before his appointment and I still don't know, nor can I comprehend, the reasoning for his appointment, other than he the best available who wanted the job. But, he's here and I'll give him the time. We played a different system tonight and got some minutes in the legs of a 1 or 2 who will be looking to get in the 1st team. Yes, a routine win against lower league opposition, but it's important to see how Skipp fits, for example, or what Ricardo offers. From what I've seen so far, we need a left back and a striker. Ricky in for Justin, Stephy for Reid, Buononatte in for Ndidi and we've got a decent 11 with some strength on the bench that could see us stay up
  22. We've not been great, but I'd still rather our start to the season than Ipswich's. They were 1-0 up against Man City then 3-1 down within 15 minutes
  23. Don't know why, but I just the impression that VK is a bit of a kn0b. Don't know why, I just get that feeling from him and that a few in the squad might feel the same. A couple of times I've seen some gestures and body language towards him
  24. I would suggest, and not trying to cause offence, those who are arguing that anyone outside of England doesn't go out of their way to pronounce names correctly have only ever travelled to British favoured hotspots where they can still get a pint of Carlsberg and a Sunday lunch, they don't want any of that foreign muck and the idea of foreign cuisine in changing that Carlsberg out for a San Miguel. For example, an ex girlfriend of mine was half Spanish, and her parent lived in Tenerife. Her family over there would always go out of their way to ensure, when speaking with me, that they pronounced everything correctly in English, not just my name, but everything they said they would ask me if they had said it correctly. The accent in Tenerife is considered "common" (much like the east midlands accent) for example they don't pronounce the S at the end of a lot of Spanish words, most certainly not with the lisp that many from mainland Spain do (for example gracias would be pronounced grasthiath in mainland Spain and gracia in Tenerife) and they would always correct her mum (the English half of her parents) who has learned Spanish in the correct way to pronounce something. In my travels, whenever I've conversed with anyone, whether that be while touring Italy, my trips to Spain, France, Belgium etc etc when I've been asked my name the person has always repeated it to me to ensure the correct pronunciation, and quite often told me the localised version of my name back, they have never been rude enough to not use my name in the way that I say it.
