  1. Will Alves is the next big thing to come out of Leicester City. The boy has some real talent and if it wasn't for his injury he would have made his break through already, certainly last season. I'm fairly certain he would have been in the 1st team squad more often than not. He's a real talent and hopefully, whoever the new manager ends up being, he gets his chance next season
  2. I would bet that for financial reasons, the football season isn't actually finished yet, so technically he would still be on loan. It was reported there were conditions to his loan becoming an obligation to buy, can't remember exactly what the conditions were but it was around him playing a certain amount of games and us gaining promotion. We can all be fairly certain those conditions were met. Once "post season" becomes "pre season" then I'm fairly certain this will be announced
  3. Last time I was this against and uninspired by an ex forest guy, he went on to completely prove me wrong and lift the premier league trophy
  4. I can't help but agree with this We had our chance and we blew it
  5. Peak foxestalk For me he's somewhere in between these 2 comments. He's not exactly atrocious but he's not great either. To say he's the best defender we've got is a reflection on how bad our defence is, not how good he is
  6. I've just seen how Gillingham announced their new signing, if we don't do the same with our new manager then we're tinpot
  7. I really do think Potter will wait to get back into club management until after the summer, I just have a feeling he's holding out for the England job knowing that Southgate is going to be stepping down. If he doesn't get that, then he'll start flirting himself around the clubs again. Only reason I can think of that we haven't seen him back in the game yet, either that or he was mentally drained after Chelsea after realised that he maybe wasn't a big club manager and really needed time away to refocus
  8. I haven't renewed. Not because of the £25 but because I've just fallen out of love with football a bit. I considered it last year, but gave it a go and despite our success last season, it just didn't feel the same. The championship should have been fun and in parts it was, don't know if it was the lack of excitement in the pitch (regardless of the results) or if it was just my lack of interest in the game now, but far too often it felt like a bit of a chore to go to games. I've seen enough in my time, near on 30 years as a season ticket holder, to remember it fondly and know I won't be missing out on much that I haven't seen already. I have a young daughter now too, who I'd rather spend my weekends with. I just can't be doing with the premier league though. Now the affects of FFP are being felt it's more and more obvious that it is all geared towards the big clubs (not that it wasn't obvious already) the new PSR rules are going to make it harder and harder for clubs to compete. By the end of 2028 (I think) clubs will only be allowed to spend 70% of their revenue on transfers and player fees (or something like that anyway!). How can someone like us, or Brighton, Brentford etc compete with the Manchester clubs or the bigger London clubs? How can Manchester United be allowed to still be carrying £700 million of debt, but because they're a global phenomenon, it doesn't matter? I just can't be doing with the premier league anymore, it's all glitz and glam but lacks feeling
  9. It would never happen, but it'd be great to see if Cambiasso could make a great manager. Out of nowhere really he could come in, keep us up, stick around (hopefully) for 2 or 3 years, have us challenging for the lower European places and then end up at Inter
  10. I've got a feeling that I'd like Robins to come in, his football seems pretty decent at Cov and I just think his manner is what we need for what is more than likely going to be a scrap this coming season. Potter for me is a non starter, I'm sure he'll be holding out for the England job. Don't know too much about the foreign coaches, and Moyes would be a step backwards in terms of the style of football Top wants. Wagner isn't good enough and Lampard is no better than Rooney Out of that list though, I'd probably be willing to give a chance to any of them left bar Cooper. I just don't know what his managerial style is, I'm not sure even he knows. I don't think he's got the metal in him for a proper scrap, and he doesn't seem to stick to one tactic, it's alright having a plan B but at times with Forest he was going for plan BB.
  11. I think we can rule Potter out. I'd be very surprised if he takes a club job this summer. He knows Southgate is probably leaving the England job, and Potter has to be very high up on the list of potential replacements.
  12. We're probably another decade from that being enough for Leicester fans though. The premier league win, and probably the FA cup win and those chances of finishing 4th under Rodgers, gave a skewed view and expectation of who we were for a good 20+ years previous to that. Plus, for all their faults in getting us into this mess, the board and the owners probably wouldn't see that as good enough either. Take me back to 1997 where a top 10 finish was a success
  13. We'll see how well we've learned some lessons with how quickly we get a replacement in. Luckily deals like the Fatawu one are already in place, but could impact the decision making of Ndidi and co
  14. Chelsea have a very exciting, but young squad. Can't blame any manager for wanting a crack at it but...... They are very young and lack any form of experience, particularly now Sliva has gone. They need a centre forward and a couple of decent and experienced defenders. They are almost certainly on the wrong side of FFP and although they're in a much better position than we are, they might find it very difficult to get the players they need. Enzo could very well be a dead man walking, Chelsea fans expect a lot, and his style of football might not work too well defensively with they players at his disposal (much like it would here next season if we continue with Vestergaard at the centre of our defense. His situation is different to McKenna, he should feel pretty safe at Ipswich regardless of how they get on next season, where as anywhere else he could be out the door by Xmas. Enzo could be out the door whether he's with us or at Chelsea, so can't blame him too much for taking the chance. I enjoyed last season because of the results, not because of the football and there always seemed to be some tension between him and the fans, so let's see how his ego holds up in London. Not that fussed he's gone, more fussed that we have another new plan in place, and that it needs to be in place quickly. But we move on, and hopefully get the right guy in place, at least we're a bit more attractive than this time last year

    New Kit

Didn't say that did I? It was in response to players being paid to wear the sponsor, not entirely true is it? The sponsor pays to have their logo splashed over the middle of the shirt, if we want shirts with no sponsor available to fans then sponsors will pay less as part of the deal, so it's not impossible if that were to ever be the case, then you'd pay even more for a replica shirt because sponsors aren't paying as much into the club

    New Kit

Completely wrong The players aren't paid to wear the sponsor, they are paid to wear a uniform, the sponsor pays to have their logo on the uniform and all the replica uniforms sold. If anything, if you wanted a a shirt with no sponsor then you'd be expected to pay more as you'd need to cover the shortfall if any sponsor would agree to a deal in which we could sell them without their logo on the front, which I imagine would involve a fee far less than any sponsor of any team pays now

    New Kit

I just hope that whoever the sponsor ends up being it doesn't ruin the shirt. Hate to say it, but I quite like Covs new shirt, ruined by a shocking sponsor logo which completely takes over.
  18. His "style" in the prem has just won it's 4th consecutive league title It's not the style that won't work, it's the players playing it

    New Kit

But if a fair few don't like it, regardless of success, then they wouldn't buy it and in that case then gold would be a factor. even if a fair few don't like it, you said that there are enough who don't to warrant it's inclusion. The popularity of the shirts would suggest otherwise and I'd say it's quite the opposite, there are more than enough who do like and/or don't mind it to fully warrant it's inclusion

    New Kit

It's more of a gold yellow than mustard yellow, somewhere in-between

    New Kit

I would like to know the numbers of shirt sales over the last 10 years that would almost definitely suggest you're wrong
  22. Explains why some finishes look world class and some are still well off the mark then
  23. Isn't 32 wins in a season some sort of record too? I'm sure Enzo mentioned it the other night as well, so it's obviously on his mind. I don't fully expect our strongest team out, although I do think we will, but I certainly think Enzo will want to win this game and end the season on a huge high
  24. Yeah I'd heard that they something like £179million. They basically pulled out the credit card. They've got to pay it all back sometime, so could find themselves in some financial hot water.
  25. He must have been feeling some sort of Harry Kane/Spurs curse a few weeks ago 😂
