Oh I am being kind, and agree it was a brain fart. But I think the reason he felt compelled to do that was because of a lack of trust in the LCB/LB.
-
Described as "the new Kanté", apparently. I know little to nothing about him, but cursory glances look good...and too good for us if those other teams are in with a shot We really do need a box-to-box, high energy player, which I believe he is. Curiously he hasn't played in any of Lorient's friendlies this pre-season, which might suggest he is off? Can't see that he's been injured.
-
Absolutely. Yes, it was a mistake, but he's physically trying to do something to help the team. More than can be said for a lot of the players right now.
-
Awful mistake in isolation, but overall think he played alright yesterday. I think he came out because he lacks confidence in his defence to deal with that ball in behind, over Thomas and Vestergaard. Neither have the pace to get back for it, so he's instinctively gone out to try and nip the problem in the bud, but made a mistake in doing so. We can't be playing Vestergaard and Thomas next to each other. It's such a significant vulnerability and Jakub is going to keep coming under pressure as a result.
-
Agreed. He definitely Cifuentes to remind him to pass rather than shoot. That said, whenever Fatawu or Mavididi did get the ball in dangerous places, there was almost never anyone in the box or ahead of them to cross to anyway. And if they'd waited for Ayew to jog on up all 11 Preston players would have been behind the ball anyway. We desperately need a striker for our wingers to shine.

Can people just not see that Small and Preston's other left sided defender just had really, really good games against Abdul today? He kept trying, but they kept bullying and fouling him. Ref just wouldn't have it. He's just got back from a big injury too, give him some slack. He's not trying to put himself in the shop window, he was just trying to get us to do something in that game, but had no support whatsoever. I think it's too early for a team to swoop in and try for him. Fingers crossed, anyway.

They're well drilled, physical, and press well. They will rip us apart based on recent showings.
-
I will say though, back-to-back defeats within your first three games is not a good way to start.
-
I don't understand where his patterns of play have gone. We saw them start to emerge in the limited pre-season he had, but now the season has started, they've vanished. Had to pay half his own release clause to come to a club that won't back him, to train players who won't put the effort in. He's ****ed until something changes. Or, he works a hat full of miracles, pronto.

I feel so bad for Monga. First goal for us and the occasion ruined by the abomination that is the rest of this team. Lower mid table (at best) awaits. But honestly, I'm starting to worry about doing a Luton.
-
Embarrassing.
-
No creativity whatsoever. No midfield at all.
-
What baffles me is that it looked like the players were buying in in pre-season. So what the hell's happened? I can't see any of the patterns of play today.
-
There is no way Cifuentes wants us to play like this. It is 100% on the players.
-
We look terrible. Devoid of ideas, tactics, talent, but worst of all, effort. Ugh. At least ****ing try, guys.
-
You can say that again.
-
Where is the press...? I thought that was supposed to be a key element of Cifuentes' style? Swear we've barely seen it since the Fiorentina game.
-
Not even a quarter of the way through the game and I'm exasperated already. I mean, come on.
-
Well it's always nice to be prepared

I'll admit, the aperol spritz in a beer garden while we were playing a match fighting against relegation pissed me off. I also didn't like his part in the "I miss u Enzo" incident in Copenhagen or wherever it was... I do, however, understand why he didn't want to be away from his newborn over night. And let's be honest, that Enzo sign incident, although unprofessional, was a pretty good reflection of how many felt under Cooper I hope he stays, and I hope he rediscovers his passion playing for us. If we get that Harry Winks back this season, we'll do alright I think.

Yes, and here's why: (Ta, @Chelmofox )

I really want him to succeed. He feels like he's a genuine Leicester fan on the pitch, and works very hard...it's just not working for him at the moment. I've never really felt he works on the wing, except as an outlet for cross field balls sometime. Not sure where he played as a youth player, but I thought he was always an attacking midfielder , operating inside to out rather than the other way around as you do on the wing. Would like him tried up front or as an 8 too. Not sure that's where Cifuentes sees him, but it's early.

If Ricardo still isn't ready, here's what I'd like to see: Stolarczyk Aluko Nelson Okoli Justin Winks Page El Khannouss Fatawu Mavididi Ayew However, that is a very young side that lacks experience, so more realistic line up would be: Stolarczyk Justin Nelson Vestergaard Thomas Soumaré* Winks El Khannouss Fatawu Mavididi Ayew * I don't want Soumaré to play, but I really can't see what other option is likely. And I'm not rating Skipp.

James Justin (signed for Leeds, official. 10m.)

I will miss JJ. One of the only ones who has stood up to be counted among this current group. He has also been in very poor form at times since his injury. But never felt he stopped trying. We will be weaker without him until Aluko proves himself, and either Thomas improves or we get a new left back. -
He'd probably be a decent signing for them. Also no doubt help expand their reach even more re: marketing and exposure!
