Mads Hermansen sold to West Ham - Official
CloudFox replied to moore_94's topic in Leicester City Forum
Best of luck to him. He's going to be an incredible keeper in time, and I think we'll miss him, as much as I want Jakub to succeed. Maybe I'm being precious, but I hope he puts something out there to say goodbye. At least he took the time to do that lap in his final game though. -
About 3.5 hours by train (and obviously walking). 2 days if it's just by foot.

Ah that does ring a bell. Thanks Ric. -

I'm not familiar with how Turkish clubs do business, but is this definitely a done deal now? The post/article from Besiktas just says they have entered negotiations. So it could still fall through...? Then again, I suppose you'd hope the club were pretty confident a deal was going through if they announced this, as—correct me if I'm wrong—I think they're one of those clubs that have to announce business to the stock exchange/shareholders...? -
Can we sell the captaincy to help with PSR? That's my vote.

"Sky Sports can confirm a late bid by Leicester City was rejected by The Chairboys, on the grounds that Jordan Ayew and a packet of skittles would have negatively impacted their PSR calculations for the season."

Thanks @Sly, this is incredibly insightful. I had no idea so much of that was going on, even within the tenure of King Power's ownership of us. It's definitely being done to curry favour with those in charge in Thailand then. Likewise, I think it's unacceptable we're being used as a megaphone for a foreign entity and arguably political party (e.g. the nationalists/royalists likely pushing that agenda so hard). It really does put into perspective King Power's motives.

Textor is another nightmare owner. No way should Wednesday go anywhere near him.

I'm curious: For those who went, was there much chat about these ads in the stands? I'm guessing probably not, but you'd have thought even some of our regular lot would be at least confused by it.
-
This calendar year do you mean? If so, others have pointed out that the change in manager did not suit him at all, and that he had injuries second half of the season. While Bloomfield was in charge he scored 16 goals I think it was.
-
Interesting. Only just signed for them at the beginning of July for about £13m. 18 year old CB.

This one's made me feel a bit sad, if I'm honest. A great servant, by all accounts a very down-to-earth guy, and a player who on his day was the best in his position. I'm sure he'd be an asset in the Championship, but it probably is time to say goodbye.
-
Yeah if we could replace those two...I could get fully excited about this season haha. Ayew looks like he can do a job, provided our wingers deliver the goods (and my goodness do they look like they could...)
-
Well except Huddersfield are in the cup, but yes, I get what you're saying

Think Enzo, but faster. Feels like when we pass back, we then quickly try to play forward. No baiting of the press like Enzo, really—more like breaking the lines. Balls often played forward into the channels to get Fatawu and Mavididi one-on-one. Meanwhile, full-backs (namely Thomas) coming inside and joining the attack as a sort of attacking midfielder.
-
Fatawu has been unreal. Bilal buzzing about, connecting things. Mavididi looks fit which is fantastic to see. Been impressed with Skipp, who is snapping into everything, proper box-to-box. Mads is so good on the ball, it's genuinely calming seeing him in possession 😄 Vestergaard can get in the bin. I want to give him the benefit of the doubt, but he barely looks like he's trying with some of those sloppy passes, or inability to win stuff In the air.
-
With Daka our only real option up front, I really would rather he gets minutes to up his confidence... Would have loved to see Monga start again, but Mav does need minutes. Skipp and Soumaré, plus Vestergaard behind them...not loving that. Justin not being in the squad suggests he might be off? And Kristiansen has barely appeared so you'd hope he was too. Overall, we'll see how it goes, but I'd hoped this was going to be an indication of our starting 11 for next week. Now I'm hoping it's not.

This will be the third match of Fiorentina's pre-season, so they're a little behind us in terms of prep I'd imagine. So far they've beaten a Serie D and a Serie B side. As others have mentioned, they've got Forest lined up on Tuesday, then facing Man United next Saturday to finish their pre-season. Safe to say that they will rotate heavily, with maybe an entirely different 11 gone 60 minutes—similar to what we've been doing. I would expect us to field pretty much our first 11, and less rotation ahead of our opening fixture next Sunday. It being a pre-season friendly this is a given, but I wouldn't put much stock in the scoreline, whatever it ends up being. What's most important to see is defined patterns of play, organisation (especially in transition!) and signs of where the creativity will come from. The latter two are my main "watch outs"—if the signs are good there then we can feel a bit more positive going into the season.

Slightly surprised he hasn't already moved to the MLS. Really hope he isn't waiting for a move to a PL side. Think he'll be left waiting a bit if he does (and it would be heartbreaking to see). I know he's younger, but I don't see why West Ham would sign Callum Wilson when Vardy is available. But perhaps Vardy is asking for much higher wages.
-
Brentford is a great shout! Reckon he'd fit in well there.
-
Blimey, £40m for Todibo? I really do hate the fees at the top level, that's awful. As others have said, those fees will be amortised. So West Ham should have some cash still...unless they need it to balance for PSR. Fingers crossed they can afford £25m ish for Mads.
-
I can't believe I even started trying to talk myself 'round to the idea of Martin. Jesus, wonder how long he'll last up there? Fascinated to see him and Brendan face off.
-
@jonny_wright did you ever hear anything more about this? Looks to be starting for Peterborough this afternoon vs Cardiff.

I'm so sorry this is happening to you. It's awful. You fans (and the wider club) deserve so much better.
