HighPeakFox Posted 3 May 2015 Posted 3 May 2015 Just re-watched MOTD, and noticed Vardy's reaction to accidentally treading on Coloccini, just before Krul's blinding save from Ulloa's header. Although the timing was unusual (the move was still live), it shows a really good side to him - he gets a lot of negative comment elsewhere for being a bit of a ****, maybe this says something very different about him.
Xen Posted 3 May 2015 Posted 3 May 2015 Mentioned this to my dad at the time, absolutely fantastic of him. Noone would have blamed him for trying to get back in to it and offering another option, but he did the right thing to check colocini was okay. If the match was tighter at that point and not already 3-0 it might have been different, but nonetheless it's good to see.
Julian Joachim Jr Shabadoo Posted 3 May 2015 Posted 3 May 2015 I hadn't noticed he'd trodden on him, saw Vards helping him up despite us going for another goal and thought that was really sporting of him. Top lad
Riyad_Suarez Posted 3 May 2015 Posted 3 May 2015 Didn't see what caused Collocini to go down but like you say, Vardy chose to stop and made sure his colleague was ok as opposed to getting in a good position to attack the imminent cross. Fair play to him.
Guest Cujek Posted 4 May 2015 Posted 4 May 2015 Nice of him, but I do think sometimes we are little to sporting.
HighPeakFox Posted 4 May 2015 Author Posted 4 May 2015 It's an interesting case where it could have been highlighted by the broadcasters if it suited their agendas - had Tim Sherwood done it, BBC would have opened SPOTY with it

Fair play to him. He blocked a shot and Vardy accidentally landed his foot on Coloccini's leg in the follow through.
Collymore Posted 4 May 2015 Posted 4 May 2015 Colleague? On what level? I think he meant "fellow professional"
