norwichfox Posted 4 August 2015 Posted 4 August 2015 Apparently the new 'craze' for us oldies is that when you go out for a meal with friends/other couples, everyone has to put their mobile devices in the middle of the table at the start of the evening. The idea is that everyone has a good old fashioned conversation instead of checking texts/social media/news/FT etc. The first person who can't resist the temptation and picks up their device to check, has to pay everyone's bill. If everyone 'holds out' for the entire evening, the bill gets split equally. Some people just can't go 15 minutes without the 'need' to pick up their phone! How the fook did we manage before mobiles! Bit of a bummer for me, I'd pick me phone up to take a call and there'd be some cnut on the other end saying " Have you had an accident in the last 3 years......"
