fuchsntf Posted 26 July 2015 Posted 26 July 2015 I dont understand when city go on a losing streak, I cant ditch them. I cant understand when I have read ALL your posts, think what a load of plonkers, but then come back for more, to start reading all the new ones...!! My German wife believes she has the answer.....She says since there are no longer the comedy 1/2hrs or the comedy duos Since the 80s, I am on a permanent journey trying to relive/refind that humour and foxesforum is the closest to it....
mundella boy Posted 26 July 2015 Posted 26 July 2015 I don't understand cycling as a spectator sport. Can't think of anything more boring than watching 100's of people cycle 100's of KMs over the course of a day and they guy who win still isn't in the lead. Also don't understand, and maybe a fan can enlighten me on this, the whole idea of a team in road cycling. Whenever I've heard people talk about the Tour de France I hear them mention Froome having important helpers or deputies was one word used, in certain stages. Eg saying Thomas (not sure if it is him) would be a helpful member of his team during the mountain stage. Surely you get on the bike and the fastest over all at the end of the 21 days wins, what's Thomas doing in the mountain stages to help Froome. Le tour is a team sport,[9 in a team] some of the team are good at sprints, some are good on mountains. The idea is to get one of your team to achive the fastest time overall

What you describe is no different to F1, they might be a team but being in a team doesn't help, like Mercedes could run one car in F1 it wouldn't make a difference. Surely using your explanation you could run one rider and aslong as he's quickest overall you win.

It's quite simple, being at the front consumes energy, the teammates take the hit until late in the stage, giving the less tired guy the clear run. The better your teammates the faster the team is.
Wymsey Posted 26 July 2015 Posted 26 July 2015 Don't understand why poor people from abroad are risking their lives trying to come here, especially with the government starting to put measures in place to stop 'friendly benefits'.
Jimothy Posted 26 July 2015 Posted 26 July 2015 It's quite simple, being at the front consumes energy, the teammates take the hit until late in the stage, giving the less tired guy the clear run. The better your teammates the faster the team is. But in the end it's not a team result. Froome won the race, not team Sky as a whole. So another team member taking the up the front running whilst Froome takes a breather wouldn't have benefitted his attempt to win.

Team sky do win, it's not a constructors championship like F1 but they do win.
Jimothy Posted 26 July 2015 Posted 26 July 2015 Team sky do win, it's not a constructors championship like F1 but they do win. I thought Froome won. I know there's other elements to the race, like the points winner and the sprints winner, but as far I knew Froome was classed as the winner. The winning time was his wasn't it, not the teams?

Yes but team sky take credit too, it's just not fairly documented but within the sport its acknowledged. Or that's how I understand it. I agree with your original point about it not being a spectators sport though.

I agree with your original point about it not being a spectators sport though. I get the team take credit, and Sky might get acknowledged for their achievement but Froome still won overall. It's like having seven Kenyans in a marathon, some might go out and set a pace, but the guy who crosses the line first wins the race. So like I said earlier a guy from team sky taking over the front running whilst Froome backs off doesn't benefit Froomes attempt to win, he still has to keep up his speed compared to the other front runners.
Izzy Posted 26 July 2015 Posted 26 July 2015 I don't understand foreign languages I'll tell you what I don't understand....Chineese writing
Stuntman_Mike Posted 27 July 2015 Posted 27 July 2015 People are SO fame hungry. Grown men wear full football kits to matches. People record penalties/free kicks. People take photos of pints/cocktails and upload them to social media during a night out.
ozleicester Posted 27 July 2015 Posted 27 July 2015 When people bring their kids round is fvcking horrible. I never have a clue what to say. As mentioned re the "Bread topic", i would suggest just opening FT and using (pretty much) ANY topic... it will suit children ages 2 and up
MC Prussian Posted 27 July 2015 Posted 27 July 2015 People going for tattoos in languages they'd never speak in a million years, trusting the tattoo artist that they're spelt the way they ought to. Imagine the amount of people with tattoos in Chinese or Arabic who are then told by a native speaker that the letters combined either have no meaning at all or mean something completely different.

Imagine the amount of people with tattoos in Chinese or Arabic who are then told by a native speaker that the letters combined either have no meaning at all or mean something completely different. You even get people having them in their own language that go wrong, so trusting someone to spell something in French or bloody Chinese right when they've written "No Regerts" on someone else is madness.
CosbehFox Posted 27 July 2015 Posted 27 July 2015 One of the best I've seen of that was on holiday in Crete. Some nutcase looking Russian with 'happiness and love' on his back in English. Well it all looked gay which judging from his almost rapey behaviour wasn't the look he was going for.
ousefox Posted 27 July 2015 Posted 27 July 2015 People who take 5 aside so seriously. I've had people trying to start fights, arguing with the ref for about 5 minutes over a decision and teams with full kits as well as jackets, jumpers etc..with their team logo on. Madness

purpleronnie Posted 27 July 2015 Posted 27 July 2015 When people bring their kids round is fvcking horrible. I never have a clue what to say. Why? I prefer it when they do, the kids are usually much more funa and entertaining than their parents.
Carl the Llama Posted 27 July 2015 Posted 27 July 2015 I don't understand it when African countries allow rich white people to shoot endangered species for a few digits in the bank.Nor do I understand the allure of being able to tell your friends you shot an endangered animal. It's hardly a feat of skill to show off that you can shoot it with a rifle when the damn thing's huge and been carrying around an arrow wound for 2 days.

Fox92 Posted 27 July 2015 Posted 27 July 2015 People who video everything. I saw an article a few months back about someone attempting suicide (off the top of a building) and people were recording it.
