More players out than in...

The whole of pre-season has felt a bit of a shambles. Obviously a new manager is going to cause a little unrest, but I'm pretty worried about CR's lack of signings and the number of our supposed targets who are just going cold.

We're not ready to start the season yet.

lol - if CR had signed someone a week after he joined us it would have been a panic buy - perhaps he wanted a look at his squad , seeing as how they stayed up and all that, before he jumps into the market place?

Don't think the issue is as bad as people think. The squad is much better than last season. We need a CM or two and that should be sufficient. King, Drinkwater and Hammond are not enough. Apart from that we have depth in our squad

The key signings of Huth and Cambiasso had not been made at this time last season. I still consider Huth to have been the key signing though Camby was impressive in the last 8 games or so, he wasn't that influential October through to March.

The thing that amuses me (well in fact it doesn't amuse me it concerns me) is that Pearson got slagged off to **** about not strengthening this pre season before he got the boot and in previous pre seasons, yet it seems almost 'ok' now, when in actual fact we're in a worse position, losing arguably our best player and if need of serious strengthening.

i know...lets get a new (high profile manager) in lets bring in 5 new signings (foreign) in the first  weeks of the new gaffers reign ad upset the camp (the camp which survived as a team last season)

Hats off to CR in my opinion, biding his time on signings as he needs to get to know the players and all of their individual strengths and weaknesses, he is giving youth a chance in pre season and actually publicily acknowledgeing the.

yes we do need a player but not immediately, let CR do his job and get the right players who will fit in to this hard working squad.

we had the sven days of buying talented nut full of ego players who could not combine in the championship.

CR knows this division and knows what it takes across europe to be a successful manager.

CR you have my backing, take your time and look after OUR LCFC

We went into the second game of last season at Chelsea with only two fit central midfielders (Hammond and King). After 73 mins, Hammond went off injured, leaving us with Gary Taylor-Fletcher covering. Even then, we only lost 2-0.

At the moment we have Drinkwater, Hammond and King and arguably, much easier games. I would rather Ranieri was patient. I wouldn't be too surprised if we started the season without a new midfield signing (just like last year).
