The Doctor Posted 27 July 2015 Posted 27 July 2015 Eh, so far though we've lost three youth teamers that were getting nowhere near, a old centre back not cut out for this division, knockaert and cambiasso - only the last two are significant losses, knockaert maybe not given how little he played. It's simply that cambiasso is a massive loss

Its only right that a new manager assess the squad before making any signings... no matter how good Walshy is with his players, the buck stops with Ranieri still....

There's been very little substantial links/information since Ranieri came on board actually - but that doesn't mean the staff aren't doing all they can behind the scenes. There could be bids placed that we don't even know about. In reality we know nothing. It's all a load of b0llox until its on the OS anyway.

Posted 27 July 2015 Posted 27 July 2015 The squad is depleted, whether first team or not, Wood, GTF, Knocky, Upson, Adam Smith and Adam Dawson was also in the 25 man squad last Sept, and Hamer, whilst only on loan is another one missing. Maybe should compare to Feb squad, out Wood, Knocky, Upson, Cambiasso, Adam Smith, Hamer (on loan) In Fuchs and Okazaki, room for so more additions, unless Ranieri was serious about playing kids...

There were very little substantive links whilst Pearson was still here, in fact one of the links that looked like it was drifting in Kante became realistic once Raneiri signed and Kante said he might consider now that raneiri is manager. I don't think it has anything to do with the manager tbh, look how long he cambaisso deal took last season, it is purely a DoF and scouting team issue me thinks

cc_star Posted 27 July 2015 Posted 27 July 2015 Huth, Fuchs & Okazaki in Upson, Wood & Cambiasso out plus James with 'long' term injury It's obvious we need a midfielder or two, to at least standstill & depending on the class of them to think about moving forward However, add our PL topping squad (over the final Qtr of a season), strengthen it with 3 very good signings, albeit losing one regular starter in the process, we should be more than equipped to handle the first 5 games of the season, as we're only playing one 'good' team (1 that we regularly beat) & 4 teams from mid-table or below... Add all that to our 'elite' manager who will add 'tactics' to all our strengths... it's other teams who should be shitting themselves at the thought of playing us, not the other way around.

It's good to see that he's not panic buying, as would some managers, and I'm confident the gaps will be plugged before the new season is upon us.

It's a squad game and we will need a squad of 25 to compete. I'm not being pessimistic just stating facts. Our squad currently looks very thin a couple of signings and it will be stronger than ever but until we have those signings I understand where the caution is coming from.

JadeFalcon Posted 27 July 2015 Posted 27 July 2015 the loss of cambi is our biggest scare... not only do we need a CM we need a ****ing GOOD CM. so many of our wins/goals came from cambiasso's ability to get the ball up the pitch so ****ing fast nobody could combat it. We are so close to the start of the season we should be panicking due to the fact we will be paying massively over the odds for people that are not wanted/shit
