the more i think about this the more i think it could go either way, his workrate is shit, but he'd be in the box, slotting home the crosses we keep putting in.

Everyone says he's lazy but the true laziness is dismissing the player outright on that flimsy & unproven analysis. Never seen anyone produce any stats that support this claim, but there are articles all over the web about how much more running he does than people apparently believe he does. He was also top or close to the top of his team's assists table for significant periods of his prem career. What the frig has happened to our club to make our fans so arrogant and dismissive about one of the most technically gifted footballers in the world? We'd be lucky to have him here.

I don't disagree that many are dismissing how gifted he is and how he has been one of the top strikers around, but I think most are not sure he suits are style of play. Whether that is a good thing, so we can be flexible I'm not sure but I personally would prefer us to look at different type strikers. Would be an interesting signing though.

I understand what some people are saying and agree to a certain extent, but we don't need 2 tenacious strikers dropping deep and chasing every lost cause in every single game. Berbatov worked when he played as half of a strike partnership with the likes of Rooney or Tevez, dogged and aggressive strikers who will sprint to their own box and back if they have to. It frees up a player like Berbatov to do what he does best, which is assisting and scoring. He has one of the best first touches in football and is capable of moments of sheer brilliance that, determined and sincere as he is, a player like Jamie Vardy just doesn't have in his locker (I love Vardy btw, I am just saying saying he does not have the elegance and finesse that Berba has).  He wouldn't be suitable in every game but I don't see why some people have instantly gone "no, lazy" as if that's the end of the matter.
