Wilson_6 Posted 10 August 2015 Posted 10 August 2015 http://www.shoot.co.uk/premier-league-trio-chase-ex-manchester-united-striker/? Aston Villa, Leicester City and West Ham United are all reportedly interested in former Manchester United forward Dimitar Berbatov. The 34-year-old Bulgaria striker is a free agent this summer following his release from Ligue 1 outfit Monaco towards the end of last season. Berbatov, who has 78 international caps, scored nine goals in 38 appearances in all competitions for Monaco last term. With Villa seemingly missing out on Emmanuel Adebayor, the Foxes set to offload David Nugent and the Hammers missing Enner Valencia through injury; the trio are keen on offering the Bulgaria international a return to the Premier League. Berbatov scored 56 goals in 149 appearances for United during his five-year spell at Old Trafford.
MC Prussian Posted 10 August 2015 Posted 10 August 2015 Interested in yet another striker? Last time I checked the news, he was bound for the Bundesliga. Next.
Wilson_6 Posted 10 August 2015 Author Posted 10 August 2015 Nugent looks to be leaving which leaves us with 4 strikers. he would offer something different to all 4 other strikers. I Don't think its crazy.
Lestoh Posted 10 August 2015 Posted 10 August 2015 Played for Monaco, his wage expectations will be ridiculous. No ta.
sdb Posted 10 August 2015 Posted 10 August 2015 Can't think of anyone who'd suit our style of play less.
Wymsey Posted 10 August 2015 Posted 10 August 2015 Please no. A lazy player, coupled with silly wage demands, would be an odd signing.
ramboacdc Posted 10 August 2015 Posted 10 August 2015 Played for Monaco, his wage expectations will be ridiculous. No ta. which means the owners will think he is worth it.
davieG Posted 10 August 2015 Posted 10 August 2015 Not sure he'd fit our style seems to me to be the sort of player who gets involved when he feels like it doesn't come across as a team player.
Lestoh Posted 10 August 2015 Posted 10 August 2015 Doesn't fit in our team in any way imo. He's a Defoe character, but arguably not even as good.
Juvenile Posted 10 August 2015 Posted 10 August 2015 Not sure he'd fit our style seems to me to be the sort of player who gets involved when he feels like it doesn't come across as a team player. Exactly, need someone who will give 100% every game.
suffolk fox Posted 10 August 2015 Posted 10 August 2015 No no and thrice no. Don't want that lazyfeckwit anywhere near our club.
Foxhateram Posted 10 August 2015 Posted 10 August 2015 He can get lost! He was lazy and rubbish in his prime. Doesn't suit our style of play at all. Next!
atomicfox Posted 10 August 2015 Posted 10 August 2015 No thanks, wouldn't be fit for city in any way, most importantly pace.
cc_star Posted 10 August 2015 Posted 10 August 2015 Good god no. A million times no We need team ethic, not someone who scores a worldy once every couple of months, if he can be bothered.
Wilson_6 Posted 10 August 2015 Author Posted 10 August 2015 i disagree. I dont think we can hope to play the way we did on Saturday every game this season. That was the only trouble with Pearson. when we played our attacking style against certain teams it didn't work. We have to adapt and have a couple of different styles of play. There will be times when we need to keep hold of the ball and not let the other team have all the possession we are still not very good at that style of play imo. Some time we will need our strikers to hold up the play keep possession. Not necessarily Berbatov though.
LCCFox96 Posted 10 August 2015 Posted 10 August 2015 No Tah. Never liked his attitude or personality. He's lazy as anything on the pitch and wouldn't suit our style of play. That with his likely wage demands means it's a resounding no.
whitlock Posted 10 August 2015 Posted 10 August 2015 Our game is based quite a lot on pressuring the opposition high up the pitch. You couldn't get a player further away from that mentality. No from me.
mozartfox Posted 10 August 2015 Posted 10 August 2015 No thanks. This is one player Tom Sherplank is welcome to.
Fox92 Posted 10 August 2015 Posted 10 August 2015 No doubt he is a special player who can change games but he's very lazy - from what I saw of him at Spurs and Manchester United. One of the positives from Saturday's game was the workrate and effort of Vardy and Okozaki, they never stopped putting players under pressure and winning the ball back. Berbatov is a totally opposite player to them.
Christoph Posted 10 August 2015 Posted 10 August 2015 Would be a very expensive 3rd/4th/5th choice striker? Doesn't fill me with excitement and you know he isn't going to chance anything down. I doubt this is nothing more than paper talk throwing in our name as usual.
norwichfox Posted 10 August 2015 Posted 10 August 2015 I hope not, he's been more spectator than player in a lot of games I've seen him play in.
