Knee Jerk ridiculous reactions.... Please post here

Well I think Vardy was terrific. Quality centre-forwards miss chances every week. But Vardy bust a gut to make them or get on the end of them or put a ball in for someone else or win a penalty. Brilliant. Okay I wish he'd taken the penalty and always would but Vardy was in where it hurts as he always in and fair play for another wholehearted effort.

You sure they weren't talking about Dyer?

No sir. Vardy was mentioned.

There are going to be criticisms. There were criticisms too after most of our wins - of Okazaki, Inler, De Laet, King, Schmeichel - because when you discuss a team, or its performances, it would be an incredibly dull discussion if people only ever spoke of the positives. Obviously there are things which disappoint us now which didn't disappoint us a couple of years ago; back in the Championship Okazaki and Inler would have been world-beaters, King could have got away with his display last week, Dyer would have been one of our star men - but we're not where we were then.

If we want to build on our current reality, as a Premier League side, we should expect to ask questions when the game's 57 minutes in and we have a penalty against a weaker side with ten men at home, and we fail to win. Or when we, as a side which has built its success on being a free-scoring outfit, stop scoring goals. It doesn't mean the world's about to end, but to dismiss criticism based on the fact that we've come a long way would be as daft as it would have been to call Fryatt / Dyer / Hobbs substandard back in 2009, purely because they wouldn't have been good enough half a decade earlier.

You adapt expectations to circumstances. If we demanded that all of our players consistently looked like title candidates then I'd consider those expectations to be too high. If people started saying Vardy and Mahrez deserved to be dropped, or that - based on current form - Fuchs, Drinkwater and Albrighton were a waste of time, then that might be worth getting worked up about. But what I've seen today suggested to me a need for us all - fans, club, players alike - to be a little cautious; that there are things which need fixing before we should worry about silverware. It didn't suggest a need to eradicate any trace of caution or scepticism from the face of the planet. And if people feel Ulloa and Dyer had a stinker, and that we've lost some of our attacking enterprise, then - seeing as they'd be right to say those things - I'd rather waste time trying to talk about the solution, rather than devoting my energies into pretending that we don't need a solution.

Bring Pearson back. At least when he was here and we got shit results it was ok because we were a shit team. Now Ranieri has gone and made us into a good team the shit results feel really shit.

It's not a case of getting offended by the truth it's a case of the line between the truth and exaggeration becoming very blurred in the post match thread and a number of people (maybe not yourself) lacking perspective.

I personally thought we were much worse at Bournemouth away, at least we created gilt-edged chances today. We've had tough games recently where we've had to mentally concentrate so hard and put in a lot of miles defensively. It's caught up with us a tad.

It was just a game where we weren't as clinical as usual. Apart from two chances in the first half Bournemouth barely threatened us and Kasper had nothing to do!

As I've said elsewhere we don't need players purely because of this result. We needed them anyway.

It's not like Bournemouth have come out fresh out of easy games either though. Bournemouth are playing with Championship standard players in attack, yet somehow managed to miss two absolute sitters and miss a couple more good openings. They were comfortable in the first half bar the Vardy chance which only materialized due to a woeful effort by Ulloa. That was just not good enough.

I am all for not over-reacting because we will bounce back, but surely no-one can say this game wasn't frustrating... ?

I'm not panicking. We are still second at the end of the day. But we played shit today and basically threw away 2 points through lazy finishing. Why shouldn't that be criticized? Incase we offend FT opinion police?

How does it constitute being lazy??

I mean this:

I judge to be our worst match so far, based on opponent and opportunity. Hard to stomach, but optimistic still.

It ought to be a blessing. The game highlighted faults apparent for a while but seemingly cushioned beneath our excellent results.

a) The need for at least one but preferably two goalscoring central midfielders.

b) Two specialist strikers, one an aerial specialist.

c)  Two fast, goalscoring wingers who are preferably thoughtful with their crosses.

d)  At least one attacking full-back.

e)  The need to shed some at least six members of our current squad.

Ah but there's a difference, big difference in fact, between frustrating and some of the rubbish being spouted here.

I found it extremely frustrating we couldn't put 4 big chances away today.

That last sentence may have been in jest but that's exactly how it seemed to me.

Wow you don't ask for much do you? You need to come back from fantasy land.
