weller54 Posted 13 January 2016 Posted 13 January 2016 Have we ever faced the same team 3 times in a ten day period before? Statos out there?
Sampson Posted 13 January 2016 Posted 13 January 2016 I remember us playing Arsenal 7 or 8 times one season back in the 70s, whether we played them 3 times in 10 days I can't remember. Given that you used to have potentially unlimited cup replays and you'd have christmas day/boxing day fixtures home and away against the same team, it's bound to happened in the past though. The fixtures didn't used to be set up so you'd play everyone once, then everyone once again. Sometimes you'd play the same team both home and away in the league in August as well.
Soar Fox Posted 13 January 2016 Posted 13 January 2016 Only one I can remember in recent times is Watford. Played them in the league then twice in the playoffs.
Westerby Posted 13 January 2016 Posted 13 January 2016 If you include the Villa match, 4 successive City matches will be on TV ( various channels ) and surely that is a first for us.

VLC86 Posted 13 January 2016 Posted 13 January 2016 Highly doubt it is a record but can't say for sure but it isn't that common an accurate.

Which is where the song 'We all follow the Arsenal, over land and sea AND LEICESTER!' Came from. Which Chelsea have since stolen.
Kitchandro Posted 13 January 2016 Posted 13 January 2016 We used to play a team on Christmas Day and then again on Boxing Day.Doesn't really answer your question but just a fun fact that sprung to mind.

Damn I've now contributed nothing to this thread.

1972 Fox Posted 13 January 2016 Posted 13 January 2016 If you include the Villa match, 4 successive City matches will be on TV ( various channels ) and surely that is a first for us. But we're not live on TV tonight.

wight88 Posted 13 January 2016 Posted 13 January 2016 We played Wimbledon 4 times in about 6 weeks in 97 if that's any use.
