Thracian Posted 25 January 2016 Posted 25 January 2016 Relieved and happy about our return to form. Let's not kid ourselves. Since the Chelsea games we've been below our best and it looked like we were going to struggle scoring goals again. Two goals from our strikers and first Prem goal for Drinkwater as well as a clean sheet from what I honestly believe is the best defense in the league right now, is as good as it gets. Luckily Stoke weren't up to much and we were able to try and try again to forve our high pressing and attacking game on them without worrying about potential counterattacks. Amazing levels of concentration with only 5 shaky minutes before Vardy's goal (Joselu chance). Fantastic to see Mahrez, Vardy, Kante, Drinkwater getting back to their normal high standards. Ulloa made an instant impact and scored a very important goal for him personally, while Okazaki is finally looking like an integrated part of the team. Only gripe really is Albrighton who is just very limited. He should mix up his game much more, like when he fashioned the Vardy chance first half by crossing with his left. Did cut in a few times but most times ballooned right footed crosses into nomans land at the far post. Cross it near post man! If we finish top 4 and West Ham don't, I would like us to go all out for Payet. He would make such a difference on that left hand side. Unless you've got aerial specialists the cross to the near post is arguably the most dangerous - so long as someone attacks that post. Even if the attacker doesn't score directly any deflection causes chaos and the secondary chance of a goal. Far post crosses are just a lottery most of the time because even the big guys get baulked. Mind you why there's ot more penalties I've no idea. Some of the shirt tugging in the box is so blatant and so prolonged the referee can't fail to see it, yet most is ignored. The last time I watched Manchester United, examples abounded.
