hejammy Posted 24 January 2016 Posted 24 January 2016 Just feel so proud to be a lcfc fan, have to keep pinching myself! How good is this!?
Larry_LCFC Posted 24 January 2016 Posted 24 January 2016 These next 3 games will potentially make or break our top 4 chances. They are absolutely huge. Negotiate our way through them reasonably well and there is no stopping us. It's crucial to take our high energy pressing game into all of them.

I think we can beat Liverpool but need to attack them... The defence is poor. I reckon a draw with Man C is possible but can't see us getting anything from the Arsenal game. I'd take 4 points for these 3 games though

Wizerud Posted 24 January 2016 Posted 24 January 2016 I think we should've had a penalty not even noticed by anyone in the 36th minute when Okazaki fired over. If you look, Vardy is pushed down from behind in the box!

Father Ted Posted 24 January 2016 Posted 24 January 2016 Fair play to Simpson, but he is not a long term option. His distribution and general quality on the ball is not good enough. Some outstanding headers today though.

Only because of the Man U fixtures coming up. Plenty of banana skins in there.
americanfox Posted 24 January 2016 Posted 24 January 2016 Fair play to Simpson, but he is not a long term option. His distribution and general quality on the ball is not good enough. Some outstanding headers today though. At this point, he's become a reliable squad player. The club has such great structure now that he can slot in and not be a liability -- and I don't mind his holding down RB --, but the position can certainly be improved. If he didn't have pending legal issues, I'd say bring in a young talented player like Kenny Tete who can also make an impact starting.
katieakita Posted 24 January 2016 Posted 24 January 2016 One thing Garth Crooks is not is smart, his expert views are on a par with Harold Shipman's guide to elderly care. Stoke came here on the back of a few decent results beating both Manchester clubs and drawing with Arsenal. They have a decent squad that has cost a fair bit more than ours and sat 7th in the table and a win yesterday would have left them 1pt behind 5th. We did a number on them, were they so bad or were we actually quite good believe Napoleon said the best generals were the lucky ones so in Claudio we have a fantastic general who for some has had the knack of game after game facing teams who put in their worst performances of the season against us. That seems highly unlikely to me and think it would be easier to accept we can actually play a bit. Think a real positive is at the start of the season we dreamed of being up their competing with Stoke who are a decent top half of the table side.
MC Prussian Posted 24 January 2016 Posted 24 January 2016 Fair play to Simpson, but he is not a long term option. His distribution and general quality on the ball is not good enough. Some outstanding headers today though. Depends on what you mean by "long-term". Simpson's 29 years old now and could easily perform at this level for another three to four years. Of course, we'll need a young(er) and fresh right-back at some point in the near future. In the end, it's our playing style that dictates whether we need a more attacking full-back or a more defensive one. Given Ranieri's 4-4-2, Simpson does what he's been asked to and that is to break up opposing attacks, closing down on wingers and forwards and in general make a nuisance for himself in his area on the right-hand side of the pitch.
st albans fox Posted 24 January 2016 Posted 24 January 2016 Dislike him ever since Man U beat us in the return after we drubbed them and I wasn't too keen on him before. The twot shouted "pay back" when Man U scored. I wondered what the hell he was on about until I recalled (vaguely) that he'd played for Man U for a few games. And he scored for the jammy side that beat us 2-0 at Villa in '82 when one of the Spurs players hit the ball forward and it struck Ian Wilson's boot and curled over Ian Walker's head. This is what it says about that on the Spurs site - "The defender with many options to clear lifted his back pass over the goalkeeper’s head and into his own net". Load of bollocks - it was a complete fluke, Grrr. Crooks is a self-opinionated, big-gobbed smart-arse. ian walker ? 'you've had a mare there' (as they say) it was a poorly executed pass back by wilson btw (we were one down by then) and tommy williams broken leg didnt help when we had already used our sub (agan at 0-1). and not to forget that stoke-crooks = liverpool-lawrenson.

Beat me to it! Wallington was in goal for us. Garth Crooks is one of the worst pundits around, said it was "a bit of fun us being top" a few months ago, well, we're still top, he'll not cope if we stay up there.
Adster Posted 24 January 2016 Posted 24 January 2016 Even I'll admit that Simpson was far from doggo today...
foxes161 Posted 24 January 2016 Posted 24 January 2016 Liverpool are there for the taking next week. They are horrible defensively
norwichfox Posted 24 January 2016 Posted 24 January 2016 No matter where we finish at the end of the season, what a ride Ranieri and the team have taken us on ) This Gotta love CR's big smile after the first goal, and DD's reaction to scoring his first premier goal.

ARM1968 Posted 24 January 2016 Posted 24 January 2016 He has no relevance to football. Steals a living.
EnglishOxide Posted 24 January 2016 Posted 24 January 2016 Stoke lot came across as a bitter, gobby bunch of muppets. There were plenty of them giving it the biggun until the police lobbed them out the ground. One guy nabbed for spitting. Another one for mooning us. And another for racism. A right pleasant bunch
Guest BlueBrett Posted 24 January 2016 Posted 24 January 2016 So many great performances yesterday. Mahrez and vardy back to form, kante and Drinkwater pure class as usual, wes was superb, albrighton carried a threat, Simpson was outstanding and shinji had his best game for ages. Hope he's OK. I'd hate to take it away from him but did anyone else think drinky's shot may have hit Fuchs on the way through? Looked a bit like he thought about claiming it but quickly changed his mind when he realised what it meant to Danny.
