from OS!

City will field a young side when they play host to Watford this evening in their FA Premier Reserve League South match.

Less than 24 hours after the Championship fixture at Cardiff, the squad for Leicester's second string is made up entirely of Academy players. Only youngsters Richard Stearman and Alan Sheehan (pictured right), on the occasion of his 19th birthday, have first team experience.

The game kicks off at 7pm tonight (Wednesday) at the Marston's Stadium, home of Hinckley United

CITY: Conrad Logan, Joe Magunda, Conor Franklin, Trialist, Richard Stearman, Alan Sheehan, Levi Porter, Adam Wykes, Ricky Muggleton, Ashley Chambers, Ryan Beswick

Subs: Liam Norvall, Alex Cisak, Scott Lycett, Andy King, Tom Tejan-Sie

who is Tom Tejan-Sie??

Hmm true... perhaps he tries to dwell on the positive...

But this could be his downfall! He may dwell on them too much and try to hide the negatives. Therefore, the work only goes on imrpoving the postitives and rarely looking at the negatives. You hear this in all his interviews.

From somebody that went on another forum. ;):D:thumbup:

We won 2-0. Chambo and Porter scored the goals. excellent finishes from the edge of the box for both.

Chambers goal was really well taken - ball over the top, he beat the defence for pace and slotted home a good finish.

CL was there too, presumably watching Stearman and Sheehan who both played at centre back and bith had solid games.

A mention for the trialist too, Lewis McGugan who i thought had an excellent game in the centre of midfield.

Logan had a solid game. Magunda did OK. I like the look of Beswick and Muggleton IANGWOC

Yes chambers was good again tonight although often pushed off the ball by bigger players which is to be expected. Levi Porter was again impressive but quieter than against Palace & the trialist looked very very good in the centre of midfield. Stearman looked a cut above when called upon & Sheehan did what he had to effectively. Overall a good performance even Conrad Logan looked capable!!

Given how tall he is, Stearman is often a cut above! :D

What do you mean by Levi Porter being quieter? The guy's always very quiet...

Thanks for the report.

Hornets Stung

A goal in each half was enough to give Leicester's second string their first win of the season at Marston's Stadium, Hinckley.

Strikes from England youth internationals Ashley Chambers and Levi Porter (pictured right) secured a 2-0 victory for a young City side over Watford.

The Foxes got off to a flying start and opened the scoring when Chambers wriggled through the visitors' defence to curl a shot low into the corner of the net and get City off and running with just five minutes gone.

Leicester continued to look the brighter side, with Watford having to wait until the 25th minute for their first clear-cut chance. A missed clearance by Conor Franklin allowed Adam Griffiths to break through on goal but a fine save by Conrad Logan wiped out any danger.

As the match progressed City ventured forward less but defended stoutly. The Hornets had chances to get back in the game, Hameur Bouazza's shot after bursting into the box was skewed wide early in the second half.

Ryan Beswick worked an opening on 70 minutes but he was unable to beat Alec Chamberlain in the Watford goal with his drive.

Bouazza then tried to get Watford back on terms on his own, an impressive solo run was ended by a fantastic block from Logan. A minute later however City doubled their advantage and banked the three points as Levi Porter produced a sublime finish from the edge of the area, leaving Chamberlain rooted to the spot.

And Porter was integral in another chance for Leicester in the dying minutes, his ball unlocking the defence and sending Beswick on his way. Only a fine last ditch tackle from Junior Osborne prevented City from adding a third.

CITY: Conrad Logan, Joe Magunda, Conor Franklin, Trialist, Richard Stearman, Alan Sheehan, Levi Porter, Adam Wykes (Andy King 82), Ricky Muggleton, Ashley Chambers (Tom Tejan-Sie 87), Ryan Beswick.

Subs (not used): Liam Norvall, Alex Cisak, Scott Lycett.
