Kent Posted 5 April 2016 Posted 5 April 2016 Maybe it already has been. But imagine the way the rest of English football laughed at this statement. Imagine the posts on all of the other club forums. "Newly-promoted Leicester City's owner wants a top-five finish in the Premier League within three years - and will spend the money needed to get there." - http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/27387616 The funniest thing for me is that we've not nearly spent the sort of figures they were talking about either.
mozartfox Posted 5 April 2016 Posted 5 April 2016 Vichai is a very wise and clever man. It was a bold statement of intent at the time and one, that I for sure felt was unachievable.
Finnegan Posted 5 April 2016 Posted 5 April 2016 To be fair, we've barely needed to "spend the money" he was talking about and as much as I think they are good owners, they've not had to dig much out to get here in playing terms.

They spent wisely on the back room staff, and other areas rather than just on players. They have done a great job
biggs Posted 5 April 2016 Posted 5 April 2016 Better spent on clappers, beer and doughnuts it would appear. Get the fans excited which rubs off on the players. Brilliant

They have done a great job Oh yeah don't get me wrong, they've been prudent and sensible. But that article made it sound like we'd be the next man City and win or lose the title that clearly hasn't been the case.
Mark_w Posted 5 April 2016 Posted 5 April 2016 They spent wisely on the back room staff They spent money on backrom staff, not sure how much credit they deserve for the selection of those staff (other than Claudio).
