Scarby Posted 20 September 2005 Posted 20 September 2005 last night tried to break into my car. you never think its going to happen to you till it does. Lucky all they did was damage my lock and ruin the paintwork. They didnt get my CD player which is a relief. I cant stand people that go out there way to ruin someones life!!!
Bert Posted 20 September 2005 Posted 20 September 2005 Most probably some low-life, who is tryna get some money for there next supply of drugs.
Scarby Posted 20 September 2005 Author Posted 20 September 2005 and it means when im at work 6 till 12 it will be left on the side of the road with open access!!! ill be driving back to leicester at midnight anyway to pick up my new car but this unnessary hassle!!!
Steven Posted 20 September 2005 Posted 20 September 2005 Most probably some low-life, who is tryna get some money for there next supply of drugs. All the more reason to legalise them (under controlled circumstances).
john_lcfc Posted 20 September 2005 Posted 20 September 2005 our car was broken into in our garage to steal an oasis CD and a shitty mobile with no camera or colour screen a couple of years ago and it got broken into at leicester v man you a few years back at filbo parked on safron lane

The People's Hero Posted 21 September 2005 Posted 21 September 2005 All the more reason to legalise them (under controlled circumstances). How would that help in this case? You'd still have low-lives and deadbeats trying to steal money, whether it be for drugs or not.
Steven Posted 21 September 2005 Posted 21 September 2005 How would that help in this case? You'd still have low-lives and deadbeats trying to steal money, whether it be for drugs or not. My response was to a quote by bertfox. Most probably some low-life, who is tryna get some money for there next supply of drugs. If this person was stealing to buy drugs then if they were legal in controlled circumstances the need to steal could be taken out of the equation and their general dependency on drugs could be reduced, moderated or even better stopped all together. It makes no sense to entrust the supply and distribution of dangerous substances to criminals, unless you want to of course.
Guest Posted 21 September 2005 Posted 21 September 2005 It's partly jealousy (people having what you can't have), and partly greed (wanting what everyone else has) and an inherent laziness that means they don't get off their backsides and earn it, unlike the poor mugs who do work to buy things for these idiots to nick.

Steven Posted 21 September 2005 Posted 21 September 2005 Good, reasoned reply! I'll concede that point to you! Even though I would also bring smokes, alcohol and gambling under the same regulatory regime, I would not anyone to think it was an endorsement of any activities or substances.

Lucky all they did was damage my lock and ruin the paintwork. They didnt get my CD player which is a relief. I cant stand people that go out there way to ruin someones life!!! I don't understand how that is a relief. In a way, to me, that's even more annoying... I once parked my bike (the push type) at uni, it was chained to the gate. I was working late every night on my dissertation and one night I left around midnight to find that it had been kicked in. It had not been stolen or anything, just kicked in so badly that it could not be used anymore. Now, that really annoyed me. Had it been stolen, it would have been of use to someone. I could have somehow understood it... But what is the point of destroying someone else's property for the sake of it? Of course, it is likely to have been a drunk student (or a few of them), coming out of the pub... I still don't see how that is a justification though...
Matt Posted 22 September 2005 Posted 22 September 2005 This is exactly the reason I have copied CD's in my car, All my CD's are copies in my car, because no focker is stealing my original copies it may be illegal to copy music and no doubt if the police found out i'd be in trouble but if some twat breaks into my car and steals the original copies the police will do nowt! The precautions I take when locking my car up is put the second lock on(Turn the car lock once, you have locked the car, turn the key further and you cannot pull the lock shaft up [imposible apprarently ] I put my stearing lock on and I take a removable chip out of my radio)

cisono Posted 22 September 2005 Posted 22 September 2005 Are they? I don't know just thought copied CD's all together we're illegal! No, I'm pretty sure that it's ok to have copies as backups. As long as you purchased the original CDs (and you still have them).
Knightonian Posted 22 September 2005 Posted 22 September 2005 Yeah its perfectly legal to make a back up copy of your own CD's or DVD's ect.
