Ric Flair Posted 1 June 2016 Posted 1 June 2016 There wasn't and never will be a player who got me more excited as a fan than Collymore. I was 16 and of the age where I never really could consider true worth or perhaps I could and now I'm more pessimistic but at that time when he signed and those 5 games under O'Neill. WOW! It was another level compared to what we'd had. It went tits up and 15 years later we've pissed the league but no-one will tamper with Stan and Leicester for me.
Vardinio'sCat Posted 1 June 2016 Posted 1 June 2016 Looking back, its amazing how quickly we went from the best performance I had ever seen from LCFC, to total disaster. My mate has a recording of that game, and I think I could now watch it, without wanting to cry.
CosbehFox Posted 2 June 2016 Posted 2 June 2016 I remember his debut at Watford. I'd grown up watching Roberts, Robins, Claridge, Heskey, Cottee up front for us, all good players in their own right, but he seemed to be playing a different sport altogether... He came on and hit the bar within 5 minutes. O'Neill would have sorted him. I remember thinking if him and Heskey could keep together with a new stadium on the way, we could end up a top six club. Hahahaha look now
