Buce Posted 9 July 2016 Posted 9 July 2016 Yeah it will be a thomsons holiday, we have never had anything but good experiences with the family hotels they recommend. The kids entertainment is very good. I'm not really a sunbather myself and like to explore but I can quite happily sit by the pool with a decent novel and beer Have you never thought about booking the hotel and flight direct? Same hotel, same flight, but hundreds cheaper.
Strokes Posted 9 July 2016 Posted 9 July 2016 I'm not sure why you've quoted me in making that point, Strokes? I made a quite different point - and specifically stated that I was making no judgment about term-time holidays and saw arguments on both sides (yours being one of them). My point was that if kids are ill, inflexible targets/penalties shouldn't be applied. I'd actually say the same about parents, like you, effectively obliged to take term-time holidays. I'm not sure why I quoted you either, I think I intended to reply to you and changed my mind but forgot to delete your post.
Strokes Posted 9 July 2016 Posted 9 July 2016 Have you never thought about booking the hotel and flight direct? Same hotel, same flight, but hundreds cheaper. Yeah I have, but I have a very irrational wife when it comes to travel. So believe me when I say, the extra is worth it, for a calm holiday.
Bayfox Posted 9 July 2016 Posted 9 July 2016 We are taking our 2 out for the last 3 days. Did the same last summer. The difference between going on weds instead of waiting until the Saturday runs into 100s. Due to supply and demand. So until that changes. Which it won't. It will stay that way. Unless they have sats or exams etc.

Buce Posted 9 July 2016 Posted 9 July 2016 Me too. Hotel Isabel. Nice. We're staying at the Torviscas Playa.
Strokes Posted 9 July 2016 Posted 9 July 2016 Mine just lets me get on with it. I wanted to do a bit of a road trip of Italy some time ago before we even had the kids. I planned the whole thing, car hire, hotels, apartments, flights but she just wasn't thrilled. She wanted reviews of everything and by the time we were agreed on things, prices had changed, rooms were full etc. So needless to say, I don't bother atm
