If a player constantly asks to move away from the club - let him go!

Who told you he is asking to leave?

Edit: come on, tell me.

He read on a website and because he didn't charge around like Roy Keane

It's not so much "who told you" - "he said, she said" reports coming out of FRANCE are designed,
and instigated by dark forces (agents, unscrupulous journalists) that look great reading in the tabloid press.
but in reality affect the player - a word here and there and let's face it - it is a well known fact that RIYAD MAHREZ
ultimate goal is to play for Barcelona ...via Leicester / Arsenal or whoever snaps him up.

Same thing happened with Berhahino at WBA, and John Stones at Everton.

John Stones £50 Million transfer eventually becoming the outcome to Man City.

Which would make £50 million a great deal for the outgoing transfer of Riyad Mahrez.

Bring on the day when the RIYAD MAHREZ CIRCUS moves to another town.
No player is bigger than the club!

So you read it on a French website and believed it, and yet you call journalists unscrupulous.

Look , if Barcelona or Real want a player, then I would happily see him go , as those clubs are at the pinnacle of club football.

Ask any player in any team , and they would have their turned.

Those clubs haven't come in for him.

So why on earth would you want to get rid of our most creative player.

According to to your logic, you would have got rid of him in Jan.

He had a couple of average games after Christmas, clubs were sniffing such as Arsenal.

Reading this thread makes me wonder how much people just don't understand football. take 40 million for him etc. He is current player of the year. He can be the difference , our one player who has the potential to create something different. Yet we want to discard him because of 1 match, plus some friendlies. give your heads a good wobble, and think about what you are saying.

we we lost because we didn't play with a direct replacement for Kante, we are off the pace, and introduced 2 new players into the side. It wasn't because Mahrez wasn't interested. He plays well when the team play well. We need to get the side settled.

There is a lot of teams who will sit deeper against us, to nullify the extra pace we have in our side. So we need the guile of midfield to win differently, and perhaps that of a number 10 . Vardy had 2 men behind him, and didn't get a sniff, same as when he played for England in the Euros. Ranieri will have to try to win differently against some of the bottom half clubs and not necessarily on counter.

Any circus and speculation is being fuelled on here and social media. If somebody keeps reading on a daily basis that he is off to Atsenal or Chelsea, by various 'credible' football websites , then you go down into a meltdown and start looking at all sorts for a clue.

recall the Vardy situation no so long ago. We trusted Ranieri and his staff last season, they will know when a player truly has had his head turned and not play him. Take Schlupp for example.

If you watch football , and watch the movement and work rate off the ball, you will see. Watching it on TV doesn't give that ability. His thinking and movement is steps ahead sometimes.

Moksky...your post is accurate on many counts about Riyads quality and unique ability to win a match or provide that inspiration that few players posess plus we need a set of new plans as we are there to be shot at BUT Riyads body language is very telling.

It is very clear that he has been affected by all the speculation whether he is wanting a move or not the Riyad that I have seen preseason and today (been to all of the games) is not the Riyad of last year....I know it's early in the season etc etc but I don't think it is as easy as saying we won't sell him as he is a complicated character who I think will struggle with the current situation....hopefully I think it will be resolved properly one way or another quickly I.e. A new contract or a move......he is one of the best I have seen in 40 years of following City but no one player is bigger than the club.

This Mahrez situation has become a broken record. Him and club need to put an end to it whatever way.

But the club issues are not gonna go away with Mahrez.

BE CAREFUL WHAT YOU WISH FOR.

On his day there is no doubt he's one of the best, the"ultimate magician" since the Pearson era he has
thrilled and entertained us like no other.

But something is not quite right, and it shows.

I would love him to prove us all wrong, come out and say how much he loves the club.
and that his contract will be honoured to the hilt.

Contracts are binding and should be honoured.

None of this stay with us for at least 1 more season.
For ****s Sake Honour Your Contract!!

I would like him to sign a new contract. I will discount pre season games, as there so many changes and those games are from representative of competitive fixtures. Base it on today, and perhaps last week a little. You could say that about a lot of players. I don't think we have found a formula for replacing Kante, and Ranieri I think is perhaps still trying to find the right formula. On the flip side I look at games in Jan , Bournemouth, Spurs where he was arguably less effective.

We we certainly do not get rid or drop him. Agree no player is bigger than the club, but we sold one of our Crown Jewels, and now people are suggesting we get rid of Mahrez . I would say he hasn't been worse than any other player.

Well, Barcelona struggles to find a 4th forward as a back-up to Messi, Neymar & Suárez.

The likes of Gameiro, Vietto, Gabriel Jesus and so on would turn down...

Just as an example.

If the player in question is signed to become a starter, then it's an another story of course...

MAHREZ Heads Gone...

We need players who are gonna wear the shirt with passion and pride.

MONEY DIGGERS will be found out - AGENTS will be found out.

Football fans don't give a **** about the money, they want their team to perform
and get stuck in.

Personally i'd rather have 11 LIAM MOORES than 11 Money grabbbing
shallow "scrap the contract" and get me 100k a week scum.

These players should realise how far they have come on the back of a NEVER SAY DIE
Blue Army.

DILLY DING DILLY DONG! - WAKE UP CLAUDIO.

As much as he was not great today neither was the rest of the team. So your blaming him for Vardy's miss shot and all the piss poor passing by the other players?

You sir are a Muppet.
