whoareyaaa Posted 9 August 2016 Posted 9 August 2016 I have to agree with the op some poster on here can't seem to be able to deal with having a world class player at the club. people expect way to much you want him to have a great game every time but don't take into consideration that the opponents have probably been working all week to stop him. another thing that makes me laugh is when people moan about his work rate even though he was involved in 30 goals if not more over the course of last season and still managed to defend and track back the majority of the time people critisize his defence duties when in actual fact considering he is an attacker his defensive part of the game shouldn't even be questioned. without this man there's a really big chance we wouldn't have a premier league title in our cabinet. people just can't handle class, more of the older crowd I think who takes digs at him.

Very few slag him down everytime he doesn't produce the goods...and they are not around praising him when he is fantastic fabulous and match winning form...what do you make of it...nothing; they are obsolète. Ps: for the very few: I am not a LCFC fan and will stop following LCFC if Mahrez leave..until then I wish you well. So your only here untill Mahrez goes and you only wish us well while he plays for us. Perhaps the sooner he focks off and takes people like you the better. Until then the blocked button will do.
m4DD0gg Posted 9 August 2016 Posted 9 August 2016 I would start him for Hull but if he is playing silly buggers by half time then i would drag him off.
MattCan Posted 9 August 2016 Posted 9 August 2016 Say what you want but the fact remains that some people in this forum (a vocal sizable minority) did not like it that Mahrez won the PFA player of the year. I can even name few of them ... This is how it is. There is the good, the bad, and the ugly.

Perhaps some people who wanted Vardy or Kante at the time to win it. But I don't think that is having a go at Mahrez just people wanting the favourite player to win it.

There's no ganging up at all, just genuinely asking a question which I'm curious to know the answer about. You say there was a fair few people on here that didn't like Mahrez winning PFA Player of the Year award and you can name them. I, among others, can't think of anyone who said such things, so have asked who these people are. There's nothing sinister here. You made a bold point and you've been asked to explain further, which you won't do and have decided to go all coy and quiet about it, which, as I said before, leads me to believe that you can't name these people and it's all bluster to try and make quite an odd point.

No way can anyone have been more passionate or emotional if they didn't witness this great club drop to the lowest point in its history and achieve what it has afterwards. That has been magical and a journey I have thoroughly enjoyed. Sorry you missed it.
The_77 Posted 9 August 2016 Posted 9 August 2016 He'll show up when it matters, and we'll all be very happy.
Corky Posted 9 August 2016 Posted 9 August 2016 He's had a couple of crap pre-season games. If he's not playing well when the season starts then that'll be the time to slaughter or whatever.
splinterdream Posted 9 August 2016 Posted 9 August 2016 I don't mind Mahrez having a poor performance or 2, but if it's because he has doubts about playing for us, or the antics of his agent are leaving a shadow over the club then I'd be happy for him to sold for as much as we can get. I trust the club and the manager to know these things and manage him accordingly, furthermore every fan has the right to discuss the performance of a player and no player is to big to be put on the bench if his performances are not up to scratch.
Dan Posted 9 August 2016 Posted 9 August 2016 I thought he was crap at the weekend and I don't think effort wise he was up to a great deal but he does have his off days, he wins enough points to justify it. To be fair, Ranieri himself said we weren't at 100%. Said it time and time again but the English are very harsh on 'flair' players. It's like they aren't comfortable with them. He's a harder worker than most players of his kind of style and he's better than them technically as well. Very easy to badmouth him when he's had a bad game. Just watch some of those highlights and wonder how the hell a player of his ability plays for us. We'll have very few like him in our lifetimes.
cropstonfox Posted 9 August 2016 Posted 9 August 2016 Best in my lcfc supporting years.since1969 . always gives 100% but as with all magical players sometimes it don't, go his way.him and Vardy vital for us to retain the title.
lifted*fox Posted 9 August 2016 Posted 9 August 2016 Some people on here have very little memory or perspective on this issue. Firstly, Mahrez has always blown a bit hot and cold. We've had a busy pre-season and he typically plays worse after travelling, we've seen that before. He wasn't even that bad on Sunday, certainly not his best but you have to remember that a lad of his age may well be swayed by the occasion or get caught up in trying to over-impress. He is human and prone to having a bad day or two at the office. Secondly, if his head has been turned a bit by the attention of other clubs, can you blame him? Young, probably a little naive, being led by his money hungry agent. Lots of factors probably playing on his mind. Maybe he doesn't want to leave but his agent is holding out for a better deal. Mahrez is dealing with the speculation as well, probably feeling the pressure either way. I would be lying if I wouldn't have a good long hard think about working for a competititor who, in the grand scheme of things is a bigger company than the one I currently work for and is offering me potentially more money. I might not have any intention of joining them but while making the decision there's a definite chance my work rate might suffer a bit. So many high and mighty attitudes on here that don't take into account many factors. You'd all do well to remember a few years back when even the thought of watching a player like Mahrez here would have you laughed out of the room. What will be will be but how about you drop the doom and gloom, arguing and slagging him off until something is decided one way or another. Jeez.

Would check that bolded bit if I could be bothered but I'm sure he's always a bit off it after a long trip to play in African qualifiers.
treer Posted 9 August 2016 Posted 9 August 2016 The content of the post shows a good understanding of football, and makes some good debatable points. Then on to the spelling, presentation and grammer, that's when the headache arrived.
Donut Posted 9 August 2016 Posted 9 August 2016 Hes an immense player. Dropping him would be ridiculous. Hes just as likely to pop up and bury a worldie like he did vs Celtic at any moment. Form is temporary and class is permanent.
