These next five games is where we can really tell how our season is going compared with last year's. Not much wiggle room...

I'm basing this on having played 13 games, roughly a third of the season, and being 12 points down. If we continue on this form then we will have 36 points less than last season. 81 - 36 = 45.

Spot on. The issue we are having isn't 'goals for'. We are about mid table for that because fortunately, Shinji and Slim are chipping in. Its goals against that's the big difference. Last season we never got hammered. Under Pearson, we never got hammered. THIS season, we are leaking goals like a sieve. Our two centre backs are past their best and our midfield is fookin awful. It really isn't rocket science this. Defensively, Amartey is terrible. I mean terrible. His positioning is dire for a 'defensive minded' player. If we are going to play him in a three, I'd be looking to have him as the player getting forward, personally. He looks better when rampaging towards the opposition penalty area. When coming back towards ours, he's sorely lacking so far this season.
