Phube Posted 2 December 2016 Posted 2 December 2016 Just looking back at our results we have not won a game where we haven't scored first (in the league). But it even weirder we have won every game we have scored first in. This just shows the importance of a good start to games (severely lacking in the last few!), so we can still play our 'counter attacking' style!
Ric Flair Posted 2 December 2016 Posted 2 December 2016 Even last season we only won one game where we didn't score 1st vs Villa at home. We actually lost 2 of our 3 losses from scoring 1st but it's imperitive we score 1st if we are to win by the looks of it. It just further proves we struggle with teams that sit back which is often what teams do when they take the lead against us and then pick us off.
Guest Lako42 Posted 2 December 2016 Posted 2 December 2016 We haven't scored first once away from home. At least we can leave the ground early tomorrow if they score.

foxy boxing Posted 2 December 2016 Posted 2 December 2016 obviously if we don't score first then we are chasing the game and the other team can defend how they like against us and it gives the other team the advantage of choosing which tactic either to defend their lead or to go for the jugular and put us under real pressure so for us to score first is a real advantage if we knew how to defend a lead
AKCJ Posted 2 December 2016 Posted 2 December 2016 I can't remember the last time we started a game in the same way that Boro did last week. We look half asleep at the start of games and it's costing us.

I can't remember a game at home though all season where we've started really brightly.
