Sticking with 442 is not the right option. On Saturday we sacrificed a forward for Drinky at home and  looked even worse than the first half. Goals against this season is that the midfield is not cutting out the threat leaving our back 4 exposed a lot more. Unfortunately Huth and Morgan have lost all confidence and cohesion with each other. We need to change our formation and get 1 genuine premier league centre back and a solid defensive midfielder to allow Drinky to play the same role as last year. Up front just need a little confidence, losing Vardy right after his hat trick will set him back. Slim does not look a target man to me. So I think Ulloa should start with Slim.

The issues at the club are not simply solved by removing the manager. 1 win in 9 is not what we are about, but if you were to suggest that things went in our favor last season (which they did!), this season they are equally going against us (as they are not)!

 

So... to blame the manager for the recruitment is harsh, yes he has his input, however we tried to improve the midfield, we bought Mendy, he got injured no one foresaw this. Silva was all agreed until their manager made a point of putting his job on the line, and the deal staled, may be this will be something that will be reviewed again in Jan 17. The central midfield WILL be improved in Jan 17!

 

At present the majority of our problems on the field exist because we have lost the control that Kante gave us along side Drinky. It seems that we have gone backwards at present as we are relying in some positions on players who were back up options last season. The defence really is no different from last season, if suitably protected once again we would have a tight defence. The only things to look for are rb cover and a pacey centre half for the future.

 

The main thing that we have lost however (and its sad to say) is the desire to compete. The champions league performances vs league are a myth! Truth be told, we had an easy group, we all know it. Porto were the only credible opposition for that level of competition, we are capable of good performances, even in our current state. When we press from the front, we look much more like Leicester City.

 

This situation will not continue... Investment will be made in Jan... change is coming, one way or another!

The thing that's annoying me about this persistence with 442 is that it seems the management are totally oblivious to the fact we look shit playing that formation this year. 

Over the past couple of weeks we should've just reverted to a 451 and just try and solidify ourselves in a period in which we look vulnerable.

Absolutely.........I just cannot see a change in fortunes. Its not as if we have been unlucky in games.........we have been continually outplayed and outfoxed.

He will get us relegated.........I'm convinced of it.
