seems very ambitious and knowledgable. A natural born leader that would create a way of playing going forward, not just an attitude.

Mancini is the stand out replacement.. And would fit our owners profile for a well respected / significant football 'name ' to take the LCFC Brand forward.. If Cambiasso could be persuaded to join as his assistant than I expect most fans would be elated with the prospect..

I certainly would!

Loving the new Messiahs - Pardew, Giggs Pearson (shame we missed out on Allardyce and won't get Mancini or Benitez) About as far from reality as it's possible to get

Nice to see our own fans discrediting achievements by current serving players and staff, bravo!

Ranieri has made mistakes this season, nobody is saying otherwise but Kante leaving has been devastating and his replacement has been sidelined all season. We don't know that three in the middle would have produced any better results. We don't know that by sacking him we will get better. He will deal with this in the transfer window and we will improve. I have no fears over relegation, that is why I back Ranieri to the hilt. We aren't even in the bottom three and haven't been all season, despite being no where near our full level. Give the guy a break, get behind them on Saturday and be supporters.

I am not discrediting last seasons success, he got everything spot on last season. This season is a different scenario and he is NOW failing. Starting with the poor summer, we had the pulling power to attract top quality cover in each area yet failed to bring in adequate players at both CB and CM. We were crying out for depth and we ended up with Was as 3rd choice CB. We didn't recruit a single player in the summer who has commanded a first team place.

Now we hear the players WANT to play 442. I'm sorry but if I was losing my company money, and told my boss that I want to continue as I am, I'd be politely told otherwise. They are in no position to dictate, and its poor from Claudio to release that info, and to allow it.

Claudio showed last season that he was the perfect man for the job in "that" scenario. Now that's changed and he is now failing to do his job, it's simple.

For what it's worth, I think he deserves time and I'll be patient and respectful for what he's done, and will be happy to be proven wrong. But if the previous window was the rule of our recruitment process, I'm not overly confident we can bring in the right players, both in attitude and ability.

He bought in two players in the January last year that didn't immediately command a first team place but are fairly well established now. These things can take time, he obviously has a bit of misplaced confidence in the current set up. I think we all did. He should get at least to the end of February to put it right, I think we have shown a few shoots of improvement and fight recently (Boxing Day excluded).

I agree with you there, I'd be willing to give him time and the next window to sort it.

It begs the question, does anybody think there is a better candidate out there who can get more from this current crop? Or would sacking Ranieri now and allowing the new man a window to bring people in be better? Is there even time for that??

I don't think we are in as much trouble as it seems, a few little tweaks and we will be pretty useful again. Any new manager would be rubbing his hands coming in here right now.

I'm still with him.

As NP used to say, " fine margins " and all that.  The Man city win, second half Bournemouth, Stoke comeback, Ulloas header on Monday and 100 % concentration all game by the defence, and we'd have had 2/ 3 more points.

Giggs has always struck me as a fair bit too timid to be described as a natural born leader. Maybe he's a good at leading by example but that's not much good when you're on the touch line. He has admitted to crying himself to sleep at night because of the pressure when he was in charge of Man Utd for a few games. He has no managerial pedigree at all. No experience of being in a relegation battle either as a player or manager. Being able to play the game well or talk a good game is no guarantee of being a good manager - examples abound. In short, Giggs would be about as high risk an appointment as we could get.

Whilst working with LVG he couldn't lead a team or club that he'd been a fundamental part in the overwhelming success of for about 2 decades. What makes you think he'll automatically be able to lead a team he has no knowledge of, no experience actually managing and certainly no experience of trying to avoid relegation?
