Why do we always mess around with transfers?

Its like this we put all our eggs in one basket and try to sign a certain player Keane, Aranguiz etc.

When this goes all tits up, we don't have a plan b,c or d, so then we get to the end of the window and panic buy and spend well over the odds for players like Slimani.

Eh? We've tended to have multiple irons in the fire, and even used one of plan b to make plan a decide (see MacArthur and the cambiasso deal)

Transfer deals have always been like this, there is just way more info out there that gets the rumour mill going.  Some info is good, most is bad.  I blame the internet.  Bring back ceefax!

Under Pearson yes, but no evidence with Ranieri that I can see, even back to last January we needed a striker and still missed the boat in Loic Remy.

My version of football manager isn't that fast, usually I get declined work permits :(

I've been playing a few seasons, so eventually the work permits thing gets scrapped

I remember in the past we were so desperate that we'd fool ourselves in to thinking that we were delaying transfers so we could unveil the player at a match!
