Moneysfoxes Posted 24 February 2017 Posted 24 February 2017 ridiculous timing at least give Claudio the sevilla game . maybe some Ranieri magic was gonna happen and lcfc beat sevilla then kick on and avoid relegation + winning the champions league. NOw I'm sure of relegation + going out vs sevilla
Kaewbudda Posted 24 February 2017 Posted 24 February 2017 Very strange timing and I'm not sure if a new manager is going to be able to turn things around in the time that is left. If Craig Shakespeare can get a win against Liverpool then let him continue until the end of the season rather than trying to appoint someone now.

In that time we lost a relegation "6 pointer", got knocked out of the cup by 10-man league 1 millwall and somehow fluked a result against Sevilla despite an awful performance. If the last 3 games had gone well, he'd still have his job imo. I think so too. Sevilla was not a result. We lost, and could have lost 5:1 but for some luck and good goalkeeping. Ranieri is a great bloke, but correct for him to go.
tom27111 Posted 24 February 2017 Posted 24 February 2017 I honestly think the owners have got a fairly big name manager lined up. Whoever he is, said to them "If there's a chance of me getting a quarter final in the champs league after the first leg, I'll take the job and keep you up." The chance of progressing in europe is the only selling point for the job. The timing makes perfect sense.
Motty Posted 24 February 2017 Posted 24 February 2017 Claudio said the FA cup and the champions league were not a priority. Milwall we played an understrength side. Seville we play our strongest side apart from Musa in for Gray. I think Claudio was told by the owners that at the start of the season Champions league was priority. Which was given as the reason for our poor league form and that the priority had not changed. The time to change had come when the owners and manager have different objectives.

Yes we not in it but really did you see us winning much game with the poor team he was putting out? Funny how he said he was gonna be ruthless and not play some players only for a cup game. a game where maybe he should have put the best 11 out from the start? Or even have a Plan A and Plan B heck even a PLAN C! And having some many game to play dont mean anything we did that in the championship and even in league 1 but for some reason we get in the PL and having a few extra game mean an excuse. But like i said its sad for him to get sacked but he needed to go am just annoyed he didn't put his hand up and said he cant row the boat anymore or just showed any sign of the foxes never quit attitude. 1 things for sure we dont know what if or but would have happened if he stayed or even if NP stayed last seaso. Am happy i got to see my team win the PL but sad to see us hurting. Ps sorry for bad grammar or spelling am dyslexic. I agree that CR could have showed a bit more fire, defeat after defeat, I wanted to see him a bit more fired up on the touchline and in post-match interviews. I also agree that at certain times he should have been looking to change the starting line up and or tactics. Having said that, there isn't loads of quality - Benny and Wasi aren't as good in truth. They did 'ok' against a reserve Derby side at home. Would they have been good enough to go to Seville? I think that Benny should have been given a chance to show what he was made of earlier in the season to try and stir up some competition but I'm not sure if I would have been able to put my faith in him either without a few games under his belt. Other then that the only obvious choice would have been to bring Gray in for more games, especially recently, although at the beginning of the season he was still lacking an end product to his game. It's more then sad he was sacked, last year we were the darlings of world football and now we will be hated. Everywhere we go the name Leicester City Football Club will provoke a sense of shame and indignity. Being from the city I hate that fact but we will have to fight against it. The fairytale has turned into a complete nightmare and it will never be the same again. It's not like we are at the bottom of the table or even in the relegation zone. We are still in the Champions League and have a good chance of staying up. Sure, we had been playing dreadful but the fact that we were that bad but still managing not to drift into the bottom 3 shows that we had enough talent to stay up. At the end of the day the players should be ashamed of themselves.
