Cat Burger Posted 12 October 2005 Posted 12 October 2005 You can't regret something that you'll forget...and that's the beauty.
davieG Posted 12 October 2005 Author Posted 12 October 2005 You can't regret something that you'll forget...and that's the beauty. Unless you're caught, although not much chance of that these days, more's the pity; and if you do get caught we then have to suffer all the sob stories, I didn't mean it, my mates made me, we was celebrating ???? etc, etc. If you are intentionally not in control of your faculties you should feel the full force of the law if you commit a crime. Being drunk is not an excuse!
Adidas Posted 12 October 2005 Posted 12 October 2005 It use to be all about having a good time and sure that would include having a few drinks, and maybe a few too many on occasion. but these days listening to people on here the objective seems to have changed to just drinking as much as you can irrespective of having a good time, in fact that seems to be the measure of a good time. Being drunk doesn't automatically = having a good time to my mind, so why this obsession, why do people say I'm going out to get pissed rather than I'm going out to have a good time. Why are people full of pride at not being able to remember the previous night because they were so pissed, surely it should be about having a good time and having great memories of it, remembering the laughs you've had, the lasses/lads you've met. Signed One very confused observer. Are You Chambers's Father by any chance?
davieG Posted 12 October 2005 Author Posted 12 October 2005 Are You Chambers's Father by any chance? I'm afraid not why do you ask?

Matt Posted 13 October 2005 Posted 13 October 2005 Went out with the lads from work (First time been out with them since starting at the place) as I said in earlier in the thread I was kind of dreading it because there always talking about how much they drank how many and what kind of drugs they took, or what fights they got into e.t.c, but went out last night and I got pissed, they got pissed but none of us we're off our heads sort of thing although I did get about 3 pints showered (Literally) over me when we scored the second goal, and I have a pint glass chucked at the wall which just missed me! (As they always seem to be talking about - although the one that mainly is always going on about that shit didn't turn up!) had good night, started off watching the match then moved into town, which was dead but it was a wednesday so fair enough! The weird thing is when I stay in and have to get up for work in the morning I really strugle to get up. I was pissed last night and didn't get in till 1am, Woke up this morning was fine, no struggle getting up.... And the I don't believe they are always talking about how much they drunk e.t.c...We all had pretty much the same to drink (Barr the odd person) and when we got to work this morning they we're all worse than me, I had bit of a dodgy head but I was fine compared to them! Oh yeah and apparently according to someones wife to be apart from him i'm the best looking lad at my work! Probably just the beer talking though
The People's Hero Posted 13 October 2005 Posted 13 October 2005 Enjoy it while it lasts cos it gets worse as you start to get older.
Cat Burger Posted 13 October 2005 Posted 13 October 2005 I have had alcoholic tendencies since I've been at uni: The scene: Rise from heavy slumber about 3, the curtains are drawn equalling poor light. I'm barely wearing the skagged out Boxers I've had on for 2 days previously. I lean on my desk and chuck a shot of sambuca down my throat. PHAT LAUGH MEERTS. I drink cans with my dinner (pot noodle) now. I wouldn't have dreamt of it until I realised the expense of buying my own fruit juice
King Kyle lcfc Posted 13 October 2005 Posted 13 October 2005 The novelty wears off as you get older espescially when you can drink more you seem to spend alot more money
Phil Posted 13 October 2005 Posted 13 October 2005 I went out last night for a meal then a session while watching the football. I dont think I have an obsetion of getting drunk I drink to escape reality and relax. some people drink for the sake of getting hammered and doing stupid stuff which doesn't really appeal to me.

The People's Hero Posted 13 October 2005 Posted 13 October 2005 I drink because I like nice ales and nice wines and it helps you to relax. I also drink because most people are annoying, irritating and ugly.

Andy Townsend is from Maidstone in Kent, I remember that because of a Merlin stickerbook in 95 (not that blasphemous panin horse mess) anyway. Stickerbooks yes?

Stickerbooks yes? Yeah he went to the same school as I did apparently. Alas he's now been confined to the 'stat van' of the now redundant 'THE PREMIERSHIP' ITV.
