Parafox Posted 5 April 2017 Posted 5 April 2017 I'm getting a bit worried about my mind. I wake up every day with a different song/tune/celebrity name in my head. Today it was Hong Kong Garden, I don't even know who it's by and I haven't heard it for years. Another day it was Jimmy Jimmy by The Undertones. A regular one is Come On Eileen by Dexy's Midnight Runners. It seems any song can just pop into my head and it repeats on a loop all day. I've woken up with Zinadine Zidane's name in my head and it wouldn't go away. Also Kim Jong Un. Then I had Rivers Of Babylon going round forever. Not long ago I kept mentally repeating Johnny Johnson And The Bandwagon. Just that, no song or tune associated with it. It gets very irritating that I have no control. It only seems to stop if I'm distracted by something. Is this something anyone else experiences or is it just me?

No worries there. Your second paragraph..... you need therapy pronto.
boots60 Posted 5 April 2017 Posted 5 April 2017 Hong Kong Garden was by Siouxie & the banshees by the way.
Libertine Posted 5 April 2017 Posted 5 April 2017 Happens to me on occasion. Just get a random line or hook and keep repeating it for ages. Irritating.
Carl the Llama Posted 5 April 2017 Posted 5 April 2017 Yeah but the song list is pretty sadistic. Today it was California Girls by Katie Perry.
thursday_next Posted 5 April 2017 Posted 5 April 2017 I did warn you not to go to that Paul McKenna gig, but would you listen? Now you're stuck with the bizarre concept of having both Johnny Johnson And The Bandwagon And Kim Jong Un in your brain all day, not sensible things like the theme tune of 'Cheers' and trying to remember who played Anthony Hopkins's father in 'The Remains Of The Day' as most other people do. Well, I haven't checked that with other people, but I'm sure I'm right. Best cure is saying 'Om' - the Buddhists have the right track on this, because a large number of Buddhist monks are liable to wake up with 'Sugar Sugar' by the Archies on a mental loop, and they invented 'Om' for just this purpose. It works, believe it or not.

Rocket-Ron Posted 6 April 2017 Posted 6 April 2017 At the moment I have both the Airwolf soundtrack and thumberlina stuck in my head.
TiffToff88 Posted 6 April 2017 Posted 6 April 2017 For me, the last song thats playing on the radio as i get out of the car for work usually gets stuck in my head all day. I tend to listen to Radio 2, and today the song that i can't seem to get rid of is "I Miss You" - Blink 182. one of my favourite songs from Blink, but after a few hours it will no doubt start to drive me insane!
Parafox Posted 6 April 2017 Author Posted 6 April 2017 Woke up this morning with the opening line and the guitar riff from Wishing Well by Free, still no explanation as I haven't heard it for probably years. Still going round in my head now.
