urban.spaceman Posted 11 August 2017 Posted 11 August 2017 9 years. 9 years since Craig Shakespeare first joined Leicester City, as Nigel Pearson's assistant manager. In that time he's helped us from our lowest ever league position in the English football pyramid, to immediate success as Champions of League One, to the brink of Wembley and a Frenchman's dodgy penalty; 18 months away at Hull (gathering intel one presumes), he returned to new enthusiastic owners and a renewed direction - the chance to rebuild the club and playing staff, and to build a new dynasty. From there he's seen us endure yet more heartbreak thanks to another Frenchman's dodgy penalty, romping to the Championship title, abject awfulness in the Premier League requiring THE greatest escape from relegation ever, and achieving the absolutely impossible in guiding Leicester City to become the Champions of England. Not forgetting our incredible performance in the Champions League of course - THAT win against Sevilla and two valiant performances against one of Europe's elite that swung on a bad penalty call. In those 9 years he's seen it all. He's worked with two of our greatest ever managers and the best head of recruitment we've ever had. He's helped build this team of Champions from nothing, WITH nothing. He's seen us play at our best and at our worst. He's seen us achieve the highest of highs and reach the lowest of lows. Now he's at the helm. And I can't think of anyone more prepared for this job. This, my friends, is what it has all been leading up to. He knows this club. He knows these players. He knows what the fans and the owners expect. He's attracting some brilliant signings too. Young English centre back on the brink of an England call up? Sevilla's CAPTAIN? Young Nigerian wonderkid? The players are behind him. The owners are behind him. I strongly believe that our future is very bright. So let's all get behind Shakey and see what we can achieve together. COME ON LEICESTER!!!

foxinsocks Posted 12 August 2017 Posted 12 August 2017 Needs to try tougher love with mahrez.... what would np have done. I hope he is learning and resolving not to repeat these errors.... then together we will improve
David Hankey Posted 12 August 2017 Posted 12 August 2017 He's had plenty of time to learn if the initial post of this topic is correct. 3-2 up with 8 minutes to go and making the substitutes he did does not bode well.
