Fox92 Posted 16 September 2017 Posted 16 September 2017 A few things after today because I've got to credit Huddersfield as a club. First off, their atmosphere was superb - the best atmosphere I've seen in a long time. In fact, the best atmosphere I've seen since we got promoted. The club obviously cares about the fans.... They've listened to fans and shorted the away end (compared to last time we went when we'd have all that stand) which is good for them. Their little singing section right next to us and they didn't shut up at all. In the programme notes, the chairman talking about wanting the ground full. He states something along the lines of "as a season ticket holder if you cannot make the game put it up for exchange to get someone else in". Absolutely superb that. People talk about owners, our owners etc, but I think Hoyle is superb. Local businessman and really wants the best for his club. I really hope Huddersfield stay up.
LcFc_Smiv Posted 16 September 2017 Posted 16 September 2017 Think it's pretty sh*t of them to scrap their academy up to their u16s. Regardless of how good a chairman he is/has been, being responsible for that decision could tarnish his time in charge.
Harry - LCFC Posted 16 September 2017 Posted 16 September 2017 I agree. Space should given to those who most want to stand and sing to do so. Huddersfield Town fans still have to step up to the plate though and clearly they have. So fair play.
Dan Posted 17 September 2017 Posted 17 September 2017 There's a proper feel of Leicester of a couple of years ago about them as a club.
boots60 Posted 17 September 2017 Posted 17 September 2017 Our performance aside, yesterday was a great away day. Good atmosphere in the town pubs before the game, plenty of positive banter with Huddersfield fans who were genuinely welcoming & great passion from them in the stadium. Cracking day out.

Was in the pub pre match just sat on a table with Huddersfield fans, one of which had followed them since the late 50s Some great stories. Always liked Huddersfield away.
Drew Peacock Posted 17 September 2017 Posted 17 September 2017 It was a welcome reminder that football hasn't been completely sanitised. After being at Arsenal and Man Utd already this season, and witnessing the self-obsessed, half and half hearted, selfie stick, constantly filming/looking at phone non-fan again, it was a bit of a shock. But a good one. Maybe that, along with the poor performance on the pitch, was why our fans were poor. It felt flat in our end, but everything felt drowned out by them. Fair play.
