SamuearlJackson Posted 13 October 2005 Share Posted 13 October 2005 For all those voting Banks, how many of you have actually seen him play (apart from the '66 final and the amazing save against Pele in '70)? Personally, I only ever do these things based on opinions I have gathered first hand. So for me, the best GK I have ever seen in a LCFC shirt is Flowers. Here's my XI: ................Flowers .............Elliott..Walsh Savage......Lennon.....Guppy ...........Izzet....McAllister .......Smith..Lineker..Heskey Too attacking I know, but these things always are, aren't they? Sly Posted 13 October 2005 Share Posted 13 October 2005 Wearn't we promoted to the Premier League with Spider in nets???? Thats got to be worth a vote or two. (Play off final) Everyone remembers him for that WBA game though don't they. Isn't he at AC Milan now?

I saw him play many times so if you want the best team you can forget Flowers. Banks and Shilton are hard to separate but were by a huge distance Leicester's best keepers. I'm giving it to Banks on the basis he is likely to be LCFC's one and only World Cup Winner shame that both he and Shilton blotted their copy books in later life
Thracian Posted 13 October 2005 Share Posted 13 October 2005 Gordon Banks (or Peter Shilton) John Sjoberg, Pontus Kaamark Frank McLintock, Ian King, Colin Appleton; Derek Hogg or Len Glover, Gary Lineker, Emile Heskey/ Frank Worthington or Alan Smith; Davie Gibson, Mike Stringfellow or Ryan Smith (didn't see him but happy to trust RicFlair's judgement) What a side that'd be.
