I was at the Le Mans Grand Prix where they'd erected a huge screen in a field for the England Scotland match. As you'd expect the field was filled with a few thousand England fans and then near us about four or five scots who jumped up celebrating winning the penalty, they were still standing looking horrified moments later when the thousands of England fans where bouncing around celebrating wildly under the French sun.

Great post, some great memories.

I was 17 so a perfect age really. Got the bug for the national team and was so annoyed we couldn’t get tickets signed up for the England travellers club straight after the tournament.

Did Rome 97 the year after as our first England away and hardly missed a game for the next 10 years. Did a month in France 98, Portugal 2004 and Germany 2006. 

Travellled the world (did friendlies in America, mostly just Europe though!

Great times started by a great tournament.
