Honest-to-goodness LCFC fan Posted 16 October 2005 Posted 16 October 2005 Well done to the Leicester fans at Watford! You were extremely loud and passionate and would give Celtic/Liverpool fans a run for their money on that form. I was sitting with the Watford supporters (some of my friends are from there - they organised the tickets) so I couldn't really join in. Now why can this never be replicated at home?

Gené and Tonic Posted 16 October 2005 Posted 16 October 2005 and because only the most passionate fans go to the away games.
Libertine Posted 16 October 2005 Posted 16 October 2005 and because only the most passionate fans go to the away games. Yep.
Muz Posted 16 October 2005 Posted 16 October 2005 Away games are loads better than home ones. I think we sing more away like other clubs because you are the minority and you feel as if you have to make your self heard! I dont think its fair to say that the most passionate fans go to away games.

Have you ever sat in the West stand not far from the players entrance?. I go there cos I see best but I'd much rather be behind the goal for atmosphere. At away matches all the diehard fans are together but it's not the same at home and the main stand - while offering a terrific view - just seems to be full of schoolmasters and other excuse-me's. Last time, against QPR, I was sandwiched between two check-shirted proper persons who barely uttered a sound. Just the occasional clapped hands. No communication, no banter, no noticeable expression whatsoever. Like two ghosts from Christmas Past. You'd have got more life from a eunoch's dick.
Honest-to-goodness LCFC fan Posted 16 October 2005 Author Posted 16 October 2005 I appreciate that at away games more so called 'die-hard' fans attend and there is the feeling of being out numbered so you sing your heart out, but why at the Walkers particularly is it so passionless. Newcastle, Liverpool, Portsmouth etc don't have this problem...

frenchy_lcfc Posted 16 October 2005 Posted 16 October 2005 yeh i know what you mean and we could do with improving it but look on the other side why do places like preston have less passion than us Surely if we have the passion we should still sing our hearts out at every game!

Still away games are better because the fans are all togther unlike the walkers where heres areas where people do and dont sing, but we gotta keep this support up! get behind the lads eh!?!
breadandcheese Posted 16 October 2005 Posted 16 October 2005 Three words to solve the lack of atmosphere at the Walkers. Unreserved seating area
Anish Posted 16 October 2005 Posted 16 October 2005 That's one of the reasons I go to more away games than home games. There's a much better atmosphere and you are surrounded by people who want to cheer the team on, unlike at the WS where most people around you don't sing or shout encouragement.

I dont think its fair to say that the most passionate fans go to away games. That's true. You get some people at away games who don't sing and would rather watch the game but the fact that all the City fans are in a small area means the singing spreads.
gurkbasurken Posted 16 October 2005 Posted 16 October 2005 Can I ask how many away fans Leicester have? /g
Jimmy Posted 16 October 2005 Posted 16 October 2005 depends where we're playing though we tend to sell the majority of our allication

I know exactly what you mean about the West stand view and the behind-the-goal atmosphere!!! Why cannot we have both
Guest Posted 17 October 2005 Posted 17 October 2005 Three words to solve the lack of atmosphere at the Walkers. Unreserved seating area This has been raised at FCC meetings. To do this, the capacity of any stand affected would have to be reduced. Whilst this is fine at the moment, if attandances increased, or we drew a big club in a cup competition, we would have to revert back to designated seats or not have as many tickets available. Plus, the Kop is the stand that would most likely be affected, and this already has a lot of seats taken by STH's.

lcfcsoul66 Posted 17 October 2005 Posted 17 October 2005 I think in general the atmosphere in the Kop has reduced since the 'good old days' down Filbo. I think it has something to do with the amount of fair weather fans we attract at the Walker's (eg "I've been coming down to Leicester City since Martin was here, wasn't he great etc etc.) and the fact that the stands are too far away from the pitch which in my oppinion is a major atmosphere builder. I think the only solution is to bring back standing. Also a major point is that the football being played is the worst seen for many years an this has led to many fans including myself thinking why should i scream, shout, sing and swear when players like Williams et al won't even try.
Guest Posted 17 October 2005 Posted 17 October 2005 Lisa why would this reduce capacity? Something to do with people buying tickets for other areas and 'sneaking' in, and there was another reason which has gone completely from my mind! I hate it when that happens! Sorry.

shadowman Posted 17 October 2005 Posted 17 October 2005 at home i always sit at top of the kop because they are the only ones that seem to sing i sit there because i sing along hen you have the rest of the ground that just sit there clapping ever time someone else does when i sit somewere else i shout and get told to shut up so i go to were they sing
Guest Gist Posted 17 October 2005 Posted 17 October 2005 i sit in F2 in the middle i think this part of the kop is the loudest and behind at the back of me aswell is that were you sit shadowman?
