Leicester pub the Swan and Rushes has re-opened after being empty for more than a year.

I thought it was OK.  The layout hasn't changed much; just a paint job and some new furniture, refurbished loos and outside bit oh and TV's on every wall.  Only a couple of beers on handpumps though.

I popped in to collect tick..... err, to see friends. It was still the Swan,  but cleaner and brighter. Not the worst pub I went in yesterday.

Swan was like an extension to the hospital. Bit clinical for me and aiming at the sports bar market doesn't really cut it when you have about 2 bits of memorabilia/Big photos on the wall. Loads of tvs but lack of seating and it's bland decor didn't really do it for me. Plus lager options didn't tick a box either.

 

The lack of options pub wise in leicester is becoming a pain. The parcel yard is now upto 4.50 a pint. The rutland and derby the wrong way from the ground.

Don't suppose anyone tried the reopened font at all?

Criterion for me, our own room and decent beers. If we can negotiate a Duffys'esque discount card, it gets my vote.

Stench pipe then, whatever. Still looks nice imo
