Iran Posted 4 January 2019 Posted 4 January 2019 The 2019 AFC Asian Cup will be the 17th edition of the AFC Asian Cup, the quadrennial international men's football championship of Asia organised by the Asian Football Confederation. It will be held in the United Arab Emirates from 5 January to 1 February 2019. The tournament consists of 24 Asian teams. (Despite Chris Sutton referring to it as a Mickey Mouse Cup, but he's from Nottingham which explains) Tomorrow's match will be United Arab Emirates vs. Bahrain at 16:00 UK TIME. Who do you reckon will be champions?

LinekersApples Posted 4 January 2019 Posted 4 January 2019 Japan and Korea both look stronger than Iran in my opinion, but I’d have you down as the best of the rest. Korea for me

I can also see Uzbekistan being a surprise potential winner, they've been quietly improving over the past few years.
CosbehFox Posted 9 January 2019 Posted 9 January 2019 Worth reading the India manager’s autobiography. Incredible bloke - brilliant to see him rewarded with a headline win
Jordan Posted 11 January 2019 Posted 11 January 2019 Hi Iran! I’m doing well so far, wouldn’t you say?

Undoubtedly one of the best teams in the tournament... Defeating reigning champions Australia and putting 2 past Syria, expect Jordan to go very war in this tournament! (Also respect to the King of Jordan for inviting the street cleaner who was watching behind windows to come and watch the match at his place!)
ozleicester Posted 15 January 2019 Posted 15 January 2019 Aussies got away with a peno shout there, currently 2-1 up over Syria... so they should go through

Jordan Posted 15 January 2019 Posted 15 January 2019 YOU'LL NEVER SING THAT YOU'LL NEVER SING THAT CHAMPIONS OF GROUP B YOU'LL NEVER SING THAT I should get up early on Sunday to watch myself rock whichever 3rd place team I draw.

Congratulations to Australia on that victory! Great goal at the end by Rogic to win the game and not giving up after what was some atrocious refereeing who got 90% of the calls wrong! (The hilarous thing is he's not from the AFC - Shocker! ) PS: Thank you for knocking Syria out as there would be a small chance for us to face them should we top our group tomorrow, they are not a fun side to play against.

Lionator Posted 1 February 2019 Posted 1 February 2019 I bet not many people had Qatar down as winners for this tournament but they've completely blown the field away. It seems like they've built a squad through youth level which is now paying off. They may even be competitive in 2022.
