Daniel Amartey among least earned Per Minute players in Premier League

Black Stars defender, Daniel Amartey, has been rated among the least paid players in the English Premier League this season based on the total minutes played for his club.

This is based on a research conducted by TheSportsman.com effective the beginning of the season to February 11.

The study took into consideration a players’ weekly wage out of which it deducted the weeks the players had been injured. His total earnings is then divided by the total minutes played in the season.

“The study has deducted weekly wages from players for the weeks they have been out injured, then divided their collective earnings during the course of the campaign and divided it by the minutes they have played in the Premier League this season” the study stated. After the calculation, Leicester City’s Daniel Amartey, who earns £21,000 a week was said to have earned £360 per minute from 641 minutes he played in the Premier League before his injury.

Manchester United’s Marcus Rashford also fell in the same category as he is said to earn £767 Per Minute from his weekly wage of £45,000 having played 1,525 minutes.

Denis Odoi of Fulham United, Chelsea’s Cesar Azpilicueta and Matteo Guendouzi are among other players who fall in that category.

Chelsea’s Danny Drinkwater is considered one of the most paid players not have featured in the Premier League.

The English man is reported to have bagged £2,000,000 without kicking a ball, so is Lazar Markovic, who moved to Fulham from Liverpool in January, have earned £1,950,000 without doing anything.

Southampton goalkeeper, Fraser Forster have also earned £1,820,000, Manchester City's Eliaquim Mangala have been paid £1,600,000 and Liverpool goalkeeper Simon Mignolet also earning £1,560,000 without kicking a ball.

The research also revealed that the highest Per Minute paid player this season is Crystal Palace's Papa Souare, who has earned £630,000 for his one minute of game time. The left-back earns a reported £30,000 at Selhurst Park.

Fellow Eagles player, Scott Dann, followed with £480,000 for his one minute of Premier League action. The defender has only recently returned from a knee injury and earns a reported £60,000 per week.

In third place is Tottenham winger Georges-Kevin N’koudou, who has earned £218,750 for each of his four Premier League minutes.

Nigeria’s Victor Moses, who is now on loan to Fenerbahce from Chelsea, is in seventh place behind compatriots Gary Cahill, (£123,810 for each of his 21), Davide Zappacosta (collected £101,111 for each of his 18 minutes) and Jermain Dafoe who is now on loan to Rangers from Bournemouth (picked up £98,759 for each of his 22 Premier League minutes).

The Nigerian winger is said to have earned £66,346 for each of his 26 minutes in the top flight and Watford defender Miguel Britos has picked up £50,000 for each of his 13 minutes.
