Foxes_MB Posted 13 June 2019 Posted 13 June 2019 Apologies if this has been asked and answered here before. I'm moving back to the Midlands after 4 long years exiled down south and I wanted to get my season ticket back with my brother and dad who kept theirs during that time. I've been told in have to join the Foxes Membership scheme to build points to be able to apply for a season ticket for 2020/21. Never mind, my fault for abandoning my roots (although the first season after I left we won the title, so maybe for the best) but I was hoping people could tell me their experiences of the membership scheme. Is it easy to get tickets near friends and family, assuming they do not sit next to ST holders? How many points have you accumulated and is it a painful experience applying for ST? Cheers in advance
CUJimmy Posted 13 June 2019 Posted 13 June 2019 All four of us in the family have been members for the past couple of years. I’m not sure how much it has helped with tickets but we will renew as we want to get STs if not for 19/20 then 20/21. Getting seats together is easy enough, you can link accounts as ‘friends and family’ so one person can buy for everyone at the same time.

Cheers in advance Bad news is it's gonna take you a while to build up enough points. You get 1 point per home game and 10 points when you renew your membership, so after 2 years of going to every game including the cup matches you'll probably have 50 or so points. When it comes to applying for an ST, they get distributed to applicants with the most points first. The threshhold last year was around 40 and is expected to be higher this year (although I believe only the last 2 seasons count)... I've had a membership for 2 years, went to about half the games in 17/18 and every match* in 18/19 and I'm sat just under 50 points. I'll put my name in the ballot but to be hoenst, given that less people will be giving up their STs this year than last year I'm not hopeful. Good news is it's a piece of cake to get a ticket, so long as you don't mind sitting on your own. You might not get every game at first as I believe there's still a staggered release (members with more points get first pick etc...) but a fair number of games this season have made general sale and there's usually the odd seat in most places around the ground. It's obviously way more expensive doing it this way, but needs must and all... Hopefully the stadium expansion is announced soon as once that happens it should be pretty straightforward to get an ST. * For matches I couldn't attend, I bought a ticket anyway and gave it to family. Didn't want to miss out on much-needed points... :/

Thanks for feedback, you be honest as my brother and dad already have their season ticket may be a little more difficult but ticket availability sounds good so happy with that!

I am happy to buy seats ad hoc as Dad and Brother are in the Kop so shouldn't be a massive stretch to get tickets (always empty seats in the vicinity). It sounds like it is a bit of a waiting game but needs must

It sounds like it is a bit of a waiting game but needs must Away points are only relevant when buying away tickets. Which to an extent is a little unfair when you think about it. Members who attend 19 home and 19 away games should really be better off than those who go to 19 home games and 0 away games. But I guess you are buying a home season ticket, still, my view is that away points should really count as well.

My daughter is a member and I'm a ST holder, when ever I get her tickets I relocate mine so we can sit together, I imagine the club would be willing to facilitate your brother and dad moving as long as there is seats together available. Just a pain for them as they won't be in their regular seat.

Yeah completely agree, in most respects it's way more difficult to follow away given limited number of tickets and distance. Guess as the clubs grown bigger got to have some controls in place

To be honest, as our ST's have been ongoing for over 15 years I think they would just tell me to suck it up as the area they sit is pretty good and they know everyone around them! Interesting to know that it's an option though, may be something to consider
