If so that must be a first . Interesting yesterday a long VAR rewiew whilst play carried on Man City v TH.What would have happened if either side had scored during the VAR review that would have been interesting This was clarified on SSN yesterday. If Man City had scored the goal would have stood but obviously a Spurs goal would be disallowed.

To avoid an incident occurring where, for example, the player being dismissed, scores or prevents a goal. This is where the officials screwed up yesterday ....IFAB protocol says that the game should be stopped as soon as the ball enters a neutral area of the pitch, if the VAR thinks an incident needs reviewing .... Yellow or red cards for breaking up a promising attack or denying a goal scoring opportunity (‘professional’ fouls) are rescinded as Cags’ was against Southampton but for anything else such as dangerous play, violent conduct or dissent the card would stand.
Blue ROI Posted 4 February 2020 Posted 4 February 2020 Went over to the Villa and Chelsea games. Not much to add to the 30+ pages on the Villa thread. We started off well but were a bit overawed after the 1st goal. Villa was always going to be intimidating on nights like this. The performance wasn’t as bad as Liverpool or Southampton but it felt a bit flat. Even when we got the goal I wouldn’t have felt that we deserved to go through. The goal at the end was a right sickner. Even more so sharing with Villa fans.Almost knocked me over celebrating.!! I would have given us a chance against Man City. We have a record of performing in the league cup but not to be.They made the most of it. A bit like how we stitched up the league in 2015/16 and Sevilla the following season.Hats off to Villa. Onto Chelsea. Was a very enjoyable game. We were a bit slow out of the blocks and the first 20 minutes was very lacklustre. Almost like the times under Claude. Lucky we didnt go a goal down at least. After that we started to impose ourselves a bit more and might have easily been ahead at half time. Other than the opening goal we were excellent for most of the second half. Kasper was at fault for the first goal. Vardy wasn’t best pleased to have the ball thown at him! Not much he could do about the second. It was a great header. He normally does well at the end of the season but maybe he’s not as secure heading into the next. Ricardo is one gem of a player. His defending was top notch and he poses a threat down the wing we have lacked since Mahrez. Led the charge after conceding and was excellent in the lead up to the second goal. Evans is one of the most solid players we have had post title. If Ricardo is an 8 out of 10 most games Johnny is close to a 7. Gets through a huge amount of clearances. Had a decent chance to win it but hard to control. Soyuncu had a ‘Welcome to Hell’ game at Villa Park but was back to his best on Saturday. Chilwell was superb. Probably the first time you could say he scored with his right foot left it all out there. His workrate was highly impressive and did brilliantly for the goal. A performance like that would make him the standout option for the Euros. Choudhury did ok aswell but he isn’t as masterful as N’Didi. As long as Wilf is around he’ll just be filler. Maddison wasn’t at his brilliant best but not for the want of trying. Chelsea marked him very tightly which you would expect. Did well for the first goal. Tielemans was AWOL for much of the first half but was much better in the second. His shooting though lets him down. Had a great chance to make it 3-1 to put the game out of reach. Once his fitness gets better he should be more consistent. Perez was highly impressive. Did a lot of work down the wing and his quick passing and link up play was a joy. He’s had games where he has scored but this was one of his better displays without doubt. Barnes too is starting to click. He was a major reason we got something as his runs from the left strike fear into teams. And as luck would have it his miss was a reason we didnt take all 3 points. Probably our worst for sometime.Still he has started to show what he is capable of in 2020. Vardy was rushed back too soon for me. Doubt he’s even 75% fit. The pass to Barnes though was magnificent. Would have been worth giving NachoMan the nod with Vardy coming in with 20 to go. Would like for Kelechi to start against Wolves. Chelsea had their moments and probably deserved a draw but they aren’t what they once were. It says a lot about how far we’ve risen that it was something of a disappointment that we didn’t win. Overall I was happy with the point. We’ve long passed the point where we’ve been an established top flight side for 7-8 years a la Portsmouth or Stoke in recent times but Saturday felt like we were an established top 6 team and really belonged there. We’ll have a bad result along the way but our rivals have to punch each other out. That should make all the difference. Champions League should be a certainty. Our form throughout the season merits it.
