Horny Henry

HAHA He fuked up!

You know the way he is now rebelling against his ban, by playing his horn from the stands? Well I sit resonably near him, he didn't come till about 3.45pm today so he obviously couldn't play 15 minutes before like he has done from the stands in the past, then he got all his horn put together, and I am guessing he was planning to play the horn as soon as the recorded version of the PHG was played over the tannoy, but he missed the start of the PHG so didn't bother playing in the end, he spent about 3 to 5 minutes wasting time putting his bastard horn together then didn't bother playing anyway! lollol:devil::thumbup:

How sad you are , taking the piss out of an old man.

Nope I feel very sorry for him having been stopped doing the thing he loves, but he has to learn he has been stopped from playing the PHG because there was a vote for the fans he got voted out, but now since he plays in the stands alot of fans seem to have changed there views and love him now when he plays in the stands.

Maybe I am sad taking the piss out of an old man but he takes the piss out of my ears everytime he plays that bastard horn!

I'm quite happy for him to play from the stands, that's where everthing should happen, get rid of all this pre-planned crap - play the recorded version of the PHG ONCE, read the teams in a NORMAL Voice and leave the rest to the sponteneity in the crowd.

Ok it's crap at the moment partly because the perfromances are piss-poor but also because the crowd have been cast aside by all the control music. Give the crowd time and encouragement, a bit of decent football and they will return to full voice and if Henry or anyone else wants to do their own thing then full power to them.

Let's hear it for the crowd.

Lets hear the crowd more like!

I think the atmosphere is due to the play and the play alone. Entertaining football would entice more people through the gates and atmosphere would come from the increased numbers.

Controlled music works elsewhere and has when we were winning the occasional game in previous seasons. I personally detest the Rockin All Over The World type music but it got people clapping. I don't know if Chelsea still do it but they used to have some excellent clap along Russian Music prior to the kick off, everybody seemed to join in.

For one game, we should try filling the stadium by hook or by crook. Not with Kids but with the missing supporters. Cut out the pre match musicfest but implore the support to get behind the team for 90 minutes.

Davie, do you have a model that works elsewhere? I'm struggling to think of any team that doesn't have some form of set pre match build up or goal music.

Yeah it is for me anyway, I still chant at games but at the moment I really can't be arsed I used to come back from the Walkers Stadium/Leicester matches with no voice, Now I am no where near losing my voice as I said I still chant but put no effort into it because of 1) (And this is the main factor) the shit that we are watching, why should we work for them when we get nothing back? and 2) Why do I seem to be chanting on my own in the section I am in?

Due to filling the stadium but not with kids, I totally agree, yes we need to get the next generation of kids involved but recently the Walkers Stadium has been full of a fair few kids and the horns piss people off and I had a kid sitting behind me yesterday for about a 15 minute period I had a kid kicking the back of my seat constanty not stopping

Not really other than history - it just used to be a few current & classic 'pop' songs, not too loud as people got started to arrive - then as the crowd started to build the singing started, even when we were absolutely shite under McLintock, Hamilton & Pleat. So it's not just the quality of the football, another contributing factor is the most vociferous vocal supporters of the past were made up of 'working class' young men (16 - 30) probably on lowish wages these guys have all but been weedled out of the game by all seater stadiums, high ticket cost, no pay at the gate and over the top stewarding. The demographics of the crowd clearly shows this.

I guess it was just wishful thinking on my part.

By the way I loved the rendition of 'Bring on the W***er' in the Kop yesterday - swearing(?) in some people's eyes I know, but really funny in the context of the DW situation - How could that offend anyone?

Win lose or draw at filbo the cop always created some atmosphere. The fact is everyone is split up so the atmosphere just doesn't get going like it use to.

Nah its just the fact that Leicester fans these days are a fickle bunch.

Games like yesterday were always going to be about patience and instead of being the 12th man the fans just shut up and occaisionally moaned just like all games prior to this at home. Our " Support" is toss and I don't feel motivated to come to the matches much nowerdays, but i'm mad you see, I still turn up.

I'm a believer that the players have to raise the crowd at times. They need to do something to get the crowd going like a shot on target, whipping a good ball into the area resulting in a corner etc. Slow, sluggish passing outside the area doesn't get fans going, it frustrates. An example of this was quite late on in the game yesterday when we had a freekick, left flank about 25 yards out, and instead of whipping a ball into the danger area Tiatto played a one two with Johansson and then attempted to cross the ball. By then the opposition defence had closed him down and we lost possession. A whipped in ball could've won a corner or resulted in a goal. It's a small thing but I believe we should've been attempting to cause Southampton problems from that position if we seriously wanted to win the game, and when the players did look like they wanted to win the game the fans responded.

I think that we've seen little in the way of entertaining football for a while now (At home). Fans now expect how games will pan out - a lack of action with long periods of dullness. There are also other factors involved like the example provided by Babylon, the acoustics of the Walkers Stadium, the situation of the away fans, and so on.

That was back when we had unreserved seating in some sections so people would get to the ground early and build up the noise.

I can't help feel there's a link between lower attendences and lack of atmosphere. I know this sounds stupid, but if the atmosphere is loud, it's not as bad if you lose. I mean, yes, losng is bad, but you're not left thinking "I've just paid £15-20 odd pounds to sit in a library". At least a good atmosphere can entertain when the football is poor.

Does anybody know if things like "singing sections" work? I read something somewhere that some clubs had set-up areas for chanting and wondered if that helps with atmosphere?

I think it was Lisa who said the club might try unreserved seating in some sections of the ground if we get a home tie in the cup? I hope the club do try because I think it would really improve the atmosphere no end if put in the right area (where the kop is).

I must have been sat right near to you then, I'm sure Henry was sitting a few rows back from me. I saw him stuggling with his horn when I sat down.
