I’ve had a few drinks and there’s no facts involved here at all but could history be hopefully repeating itself?

 

2012/2013: First Full Season under Pearson Mk2, we get off to a flyer playing great football but come to a complete collapse in the second half of the season eventually missing out on the final day. Fans call for Pearson to be axed and turn on a lot of the players

 

2013/2014: We have a poor transfer window doing very little fans moan that we haven’t signed anyone and half the fanbase want the manager gone. We go on to have one of the best seasons in our history

 

Fast Forward...

 

2019/2020: First Full Season under Rodgers, we get off to a flyer playing expansive football but come to a complete collapse in the second half of the season before missing out on the final day. Fans turn on Rodgers and half the squad 

 

2020/2021: We have a pretty poor start to the Transfer Window , fans moan about signings and many still unsure about the manager. We go on to have one of the best starts in our history

We still need that depth. We cant be playing 50 something games this season without rotation and our second team is upper championship level at best. Once we have decent squad depth then we can talk about league titles. We are only one Vardy injury away from looking very average.

We aren't going to have to play our entire second string at the same time unless we want to. 

 

Mendy isn't first choice, Praet isn't first choice, Justin isn't first choice. We've played two games with Ndidi at centre back, not had Ricardo at all, still got Under to come back, not had Evans for two games. Amartey didn't disgrace himself. Yet we've still done very well.

 

I think it's about time people stopped moaning about depth. Yes there are a couple of areas we need ideally like to strengthen and we seem like we are trying to sort one of them with a new CB, but it's really not as bad as people keep making out.

Terrible transfer window?. un- earthed on incredible player for 20 million and we haven't seen the other one play yet. Mendy looks great and amartey has just played brilliant against Man city.. One more good signing would make the start of the season fantastic.Of course we need a couple more if possible ,but so do all the clubs.
