Laptop gaming controller.

I'm proper crap when it comes to playing games on pc/laptop. My son has downloaded a couple of games from Steam. Just a proper grind him trying to play with the keys/mouse.

 

Is there any recommendations for a controller that would work? Doesn't have to be a fantastic one, just for his basic games.

 

We have an Xbox One and I've read those controllers may be compatible?

It should yeah. As long as the Steam games allow you to use a controller it should work fine.

I use an xbox controller on my PC, works fine. Cant get used to mouse and keyboard.

Some controllers might be a pain to connect over bluetooth but since you're using Steam it will pick up literally any controller you plug into the usb port.  You'll know it's worked because Steam likes to shove a big notification in your face every time you plug the controller in.

Thanks all. I'm just 'working' at the moment so will check out the Xbox controller later.

Xbox One controllers released after the Xbox One S was released are all Bluetooth so will work with anything. The original model wasn't but you can get a dongle to allow them to work with a PC

any wired controller will work on pc. and some wireless, but i preffer wired anyway because, batteries
