Take that back about Vardy please.

I love Vardy but I can’t take it back because it’s the truth.

This will be a transitional year for us in attack. It was clear from the friendlies that we looked more like scoring when Iheanacho and Daka came on.

Vardy still has a role to play as we saw when he turned provider for Iheanacho last season.

He no longer carries the threat he used to when played as the lone striker. Fact.

Vardy looks much better in a 2 with kelechi to run off.

The fact of the matter is over time we have been going less and less direct and more towards slow build up play. This completely nullifies vardys biggest threat - pace in behind the defence.

I feel a bit for vardy atm because all we seem to want to do is pass between our CBs. I can’t remember a single time we put an intentional pass over the top for vardy to run onto on Monday.

The guy simply doesn’t suit that system.

Remember the season following our Premiership win? Last season it was the F A Cup we won. Around 10th place finish. We need a couple of really good players, especially on the roght wing. Easier said than done, though.

I would love the op to do a video like this

Contrary to the belief on here I’m not having a meltdown! 😂

I’m calmly stating that having 6 defenders out will cost us points. As will any longer term persistence on playing Vardy in the lone striker role because all the physical qualities that have been strengths in his game are depreciating.

None of the above is an overreaction. It’s logical, as Mr Spock might say 🖖🏼.

I also noted with sadness Reece James in the Chelsea game both outpacing and outmuscling Vardy when he did get in. Wouldn’t have happened to a prime Vardy. It’s only going to happen more often.

You have despair for someone who says we should modify our expectations of finishing 4th or 5th because we have a terrible defensive crisis?

he has despair because there's still 36 games to go and anything can happen, other teams will suffer setbacks and injuries

if we're giving up hope of a decent finish this soon into the season whats the point in following the football?

i hope the players haven't given up on 4th or 5th already

i understand the sentiment and that you're posting with a positively cautious outlook but people go to the football to believe we can win and finish as high up the table as possible, you can't tell everyone to sack their hopes and dreams off after one loss lol

I haven’t said anything about giving up hope or about sacking off dreams. That’s your attribution! 😂

You are an ostrich if you think 4th or 5th is still on 😂

So those of you posting so far think 4th or 5th is still on then? Ok then.

Fair ish cop! But the quotes are better understood when you see the posts that prompted them!

im mostly pulling your leg fella

like i said, i see ur original post was with good intent but i can see why people reject the idea of giving up on 4th or 5th at this early stage

there were points mid way through last season where we could have given up on 4th or 5th but players like nacho stepped up and kept us going

summit similar might happen this season - its the hope that kills you but also, whats the point without hope?

That doesn't fit my narrative or any potential comedic value though  😉😂
