Cobbo Posted 23 November 2005 Posted 23 November 2005 Yep and the fans practically rebuilt the Valley themselves. I think fans at any club and at whatever level would do the exact same thing to help their club stay alive, whatever our situation at the moment the passion and love for the club will always be there, even the stay-aways. Charlton fans formed their own political group too called 'back to the valley' or something and they won a worrying amount of votes for the local council so they let them have their ground back! Brilliant
Milky Posted 23 November 2005 Posted 23 November 2005 Charlton fans formed their own political group too called 'back to the valley' or something and they won a worrying amount of votes for the local council so they let them have their ground back! Brilliant that's fan power for you
Anish Posted 23 November 2005 Posted 23 November 2005 that's the kind of immature coment i'm talking about. why get personnel? can't u take part in a proper debate? put forward your side of the argument in a sensible manner. i don't claim to be an expert in anything, i simply said that i understood what he was saying and that i appreciated what he was trying to say. comical. If anybody's comical it's you. I've highlighted your arrogance for you and for everyone else to see. Sorry Mr 'I know everything about LCFC'. I don't get personal, you think you know it all, I'm merely re-iterating your point. i've been a leicester fan all my life, i know everything there is too know about leicester city football club so don't give me that shit. YOU'VE JUST PROVED MY POINT . "A CONSORTIUM CAME IN" that is exactly my point, we have a huge fan base, people will rescue up whatever happens. . we will never go out of existance. , you know i'm right. there will always be a consortium round the corner to rescue leicester city football club. we have some very wealthy fans. we were never going to go bust, everyone would have given every thing they could to save the club. we were never gonna be the first look, i appreciate we were very close, very very close, but we were never gonna be the first cus we have such great support. and i don't think we have a devine right to be in the premiership, you don't need to get personnel, i'm as bigger leicester fan as you will get, i know everything about the club. you have to earn the right to be in the top flight, we've spent just as much time outside the top flight than in it during my time as a fan.
Milky Posted 23 November 2005 Posted 23 November 2005 lol. more spin than shane warne anish. . my quotes saying i know everything about leicester was in response to a couple of other posts implying that i hadn't been a fan for very long etc.. nice try, but more spin than warney on that.
Hullfox Posted 23 November 2005 Posted 23 November 2005 Lets look at the evidence shall we? Who said - i know everything there is too know about leicester city, you know i'm right i'm as bigger leicester fan as you will get, i know everything about the club.[/b] If you want to come on and have a debate then that's great. However, the above comments alone (not taking into account you are wrong) lead me to believe that you do not know everything and you are far from the biggest Leicester fan. In the true spirit of the forum however I will be prepared to take note of your protestations to the contrary. And by the way, you mean personal, not personnel (that should have been covered when you were studying business)
Honest-to-goodness LCFC fan Posted 23 November 2005 Posted 23 November 2005 Give it a rest, you're all blatantly ganging up on him over a trivial point (don't start saying I'm calling administration boring by the way, I'm talking semantics). Why don't you talk football instead.
Milky Posted 23 November 2005 Posted 23 November 2005 they are ganging up yes, i was hoping for healthy debate, but they have decended into abuse just because they don't like my opinion. obviously they have been ruffled, and rather than coming back with a really great argument, they have opted for the abusive approach. shame that.
Milky Posted 23 November 2005 Posted 23 November 2005 Lets look at the evidence shall we? Who said - i know everything there is too know about leicester city, you know i'm right i'm as bigger leicester fan as you will get, i know everything about the club.[/b] you've also picked bits out of things i have said and stuck them together. you're evidence is out of context, and doesn't show the hole picture. at least print the hole quote, otherwise it's just sneaky spin, an obvious sign that you don't have a leg to stand on.
Anish Posted 23 November 2005 Posted 23 November 2005 Yes, like you come up with "really great arguments" all the time. You post sensibly and intelligently then others will follow. When you post stuff like "I know everything about Leicester City" then you're asking for abuse.
Anish Posted 23 November 2005 Posted 23 November 2005 As for the difference between 'hole' and 'whole', learn basic English!
Milky Posted 23 November 2005 Posted 23 November 2005 i said i know everything about leicester city in my defence. obviously i don't, no-one does, it was a figure of speech for god's sake!!!! another poster was questioning my standing as a fan of the club, so i told them in no uncertain terms that i am a big fan. this has been blown out of all proportion. As for the difference between 'hole' and 'whole', learn basic English! it's quicker to type hole, rather than whole. your being very picky, i bet you send text messages to people and check every single word and right it out properly. if i was writing an important document obviously i would take more care.
Milky Posted 23 November 2005 Posted 23 November 2005 Anish is only having a go at me by the way because he goes to nottigham trent uni and i go to the university of nottigham. he has some problem with my uni for some reason.
Hullfox Posted 23 November 2005 Posted 23 November 2005 you've also picked bits out of things i have said and stuck them together. you're evidence is out of context, and doesn't show the hole picture. at least print the hole quote, otherwise it's just sneaky spin, an obvious sign that you don't have a leg to stand on. Actually got two legs, bit short they are but they've served me well. Having re-read your posts I apologise. You obviously do know as much as you claim and you've set me right. I put my hands up and acknowledge my weakness for sneaky spin. Anish, I think it's time for you to see the error of your ways and apologise.
Ultra Posted 23 November 2005 Posted 23 November 2005 We are trying to convince you that we were 1 day away from being folded as LCFC. Do you understand that once the company name of Leicester City Football Club is made Bankrupt that name can never be used as a company name ever again. Do you think it would be the same if we were now called Leicester AFC cause I dont. And it was made bankrupt. The club is now owned by New Fox plc and they are the official employers of all players, management and staff of the club. 'Leicester City' is just a trading name. Both Tim Davies and the Foxes Trust have confirmed that we were VERY close to going under. As they were in a position to know, I think we should respect their integrity on this. And the threat of extinction hasn't entirely gone away. We still have considerable debts to pay and income streams are falling sharply. Bluearmy 5, you should show a little less arrogance in your posts, and a little more respect towards those seeking to advise you of historical facts.

Milky Posted 23 November 2005 Posted 23 November 2005 Bluearmy 5, you should show a little less arrogance in your posts, and a little more respect towards those seeking to advise you of historical facts. thankyou for your comments, i have taken on board what you have said. i am well aware that we came very close to extinction, as indeed i have said in my posts. my comments were more aimed at the fact that we have such a strong fan base that it would be hard to think that we couldn't save the club. if i came across as arrogant i apologise, but i can assure you there was no lack of respect.

Honest-to-goodness LCFC fan Posted 23 November 2005 Posted 23 November 2005 As for the difference between 'hole' and 'whole', learn basic English! As for the difference... what?
Milky Posted 24 November 2005 Posted 24 November 2005 As for the difference... what? i don't see what his problem is. if it's just because he doesn't like my uni, well, that's just petty stuff.
Anish Posted 24 November 2005 Posted 24 November 2005 Anish is only having a go at me by the way because he goes to nottigham trent uni and i go to the university of nottigham. he has some problem with my uni for some reason. I don't have a problem with your uni, it's you. You claimed to be superior because you go to Nottingham Uni and said in another post that people at Nottingham Uni are more intelligent than those at Trent. I've merely pointed out the errors of your spelling and grammar because you were condescending in the other post. As a moot point, I graduated from Warwick Uni and am now doing the LPC at Nottingham Law School, it's your arrogance that riles me.
Milky Posted 24 November 2005 Posted 24 November 2005 yet again, those comments were in SELF DEFENCE.
Scow Posted 24 November 2005 Posted 24 November 2005 Bluearmy 5, Just a summary for you in simple terms. - The club was 24 hours away from extinction. - You assumed this would never happen as the club is too big. - Just because the club is 'big' in your eyes, this acts as no guarantee. - A poster on the thread questioned your length of support because of your naive comments. - You acted very childishly and defensively by claiming you know everything about the club and that you were one of it's biggest supporters. - Then you claim you're being abused, when that's not been the case. - You apparently attend Uni, but you come across a bit slow. A forum isn't a text message conversation. At least put a little thought in to your posts and you wouldn't be accused of certain things.
Jimmy Posted 24 November 2005 Posted 24 November 2005 he sounds like a little kid caught in a lie to me
Ultra Posted 24 November 2005 Posted 24 November 2005 thankyou for your comments, i have taken on board what you have said. i am well aware that we came very close to extinction, as indeed i have said in my posts. my comments were more aimed at the fact that we have such a strong fan base that it would be hard to think that we couldn't save the club. if i came across as arrogant i apologise, but i can assure you there was no lack of respect. There's no doubt we could have gone out of business. The scale of the debts were not widely known, but I suspect that they were enough to put off those who might have been approached to build a rescue package. We haven't been the only club in that situation. Forest and Derby haven't been too far away either and only last year, Leeds nearly went. In all these cases the common factor was that fans were kept in the dark by secretive private owners. If the club was owned and run by fans, with accounts freely available for inspection, we wouldn't have been in this mess. But at the moment, sadly we're some distance away from that scenario.
