still tynie Posted 22 November 2005 Posted 22 November 2005 Whats with all this negative feelings for the team and Craig Levein , it takes time to build a winning team there for Levein should be given the time he needs as at Cowdenbeath and Hearts before it took him 18 months to get things going , be patient and cut him some slack
Milky Posted 22 November 2005 Posted 22 November 2005 it shouldn't take that long to get things going
Head Honcho Posted 22 November 2005 Posted 22 November 2005 I'd give him time if the team was moving in the right direction but we are getting worse, the players we have we are stuck with and some of them are just not good enough for this league!

It's going to take time and Craig is the one. That's all i'm going to say before i get any more insults thrown at me.
Steven Posted 22 November 2005 Posted 22 November 2005 For me he has until this time next year. However I would like to see the side moving forwards until then, can be small steps. <_<
Ric Flair Posted 22 November 2005 Posted 22 November 2005 A couple of things i've found on a hearts website recently regarding Levein Listen mate, I think you should give Levein time to get it right. Under Micky Adams, Leicester basically had a team full of veterans good enough to get back to the Prem in the short term, but which was never going to be good enough to stay there (and that wasn't Adams' fault, incidentally: the problem goes back to the money thrown away during Peter Taylor's time at the helm). When CL joined you last season, he knew he was facing a long-term rebuilding job (much like when he started at Hearts, actually). It's too early to expect him to have you in contention already. Remember that at Hearts, he took over about a third of the way through the season, did ok for the rest of that term without setting the heather alight, struggled for much of the next year (and had the fans on his back with some wanting him out - just like at Leicester now), before - with many of us expecting a relegation battle, and with him facing a make or break third season in charge - triumphantly turning things around, and establishing us as the best of the rest with an excellent, hungry young side. As far as I can see, he's basically on course to do the same at Leicester: keep the faith through what will be a difficult rest of the season, and I'm sure he'll have you in at least the top 6, and maybe even the top 2, in 06/07. I still rate him hugely: he's got too much intelligence and self-belief for you to give up on him prematurely. You have my sympathies but I believe it'll come good for you in the end. I just don't think Levien will be given enough time.It took him 2 years to sort things out at Hearts which he did eventually do by us finishing 3rd two years consecutively (no other team in Scotland have managed this in the last ten years) and having two decent runs in the UEFA cup at which point he left Hearts. Levien's qualities are stability, team work and steady stewardship which will bring reletive success over a period of time but not instant flamboyant riches which is why paying fans don't really take to him 100% and chairmen do. It sounded like your club needed Leviens qualities a year ago but now a quick fix is being demanded and you won't get that. Give it time and it'll all come together, but it will be slow and unspectacular! Send Maybury back if you don't like him but keep De Vries and Kisnorbo. Hamill is two years away yet.
Ultra Posted 22 November 2005 Posted 22 November 2005 As far as I can see, he's basically on course to do the same at Leicester: keep the faith through what will be a difficult rest of the season That phrase sounds familiar. Haven't we heard it from someone before?
Babylon Posted 22 November 2005 Posted 22 November 2005 it shouldn't take that long to get things going Who says...
SIRFOOT Posted 22 November 2005 Posted 22 November 2005 If he left tomorrow, i wouldnt be disappointed or happy, because he hasnt had nay effect on me, things are the same as they were when he 1st took over.
Ricey Posted 22 November 2005 Posted 22 November 2005 We have to get behind him, if we don't he doesn't stand a chance. Being negative will mean the players get negative and it all goes very wrong.
Northants Fox Posted 22 November 2005 Posted 22 November 2005 We have to get behind him, if we don't he doesn't stand a chance. Being negative will mean the players get negative and it all goes very wrong. I'm behind him 100% mate always have been, ihad a look on the Hearts site at their history, the first two seasons he was in charge and that includes when he joined them the 1st year third way through the 1st season they finished fifth, the next two seasons they finished third and dropped back to fifth when he left, check their history yourself if you want i looked about two to three months back i think.

One thing we are overlooking here! 1 This isn’t the crappy Scottish Premier League and 2 we are not Hearts. I personally think that he has come here thinking Championship, - Piece of piss. And he is just realising that he just may have bitten of more than he can chew.
Guest Gist Posted 23 November 2005 Posted 23 November 2005 Yeh we I thought we should give him more time but looking at things now im slowly turning on him .. he makes Kinorbo captain and doesnt play IMO our best striker Our performances are just terrible no wonder there was only 18 thousand there last night

Darth Fox Posted 23 November 2005 Posted 23 November 2005 SPL isn't that bad. Celtic are a sound team but yeah the rest are a bit pooh though. It's entertaining enough that's for sure but the quality at time is awful.
Chimp Posted 23 November 2005 Posted 23 November 2005 If he left tomorrow, i wouldnt be disappointed or happy, because he hasnt had nay effect on me, things are the same as they were when he 1st took over. Things are the same? If you really don't see the positive effects CL has had on the club as a whole then you must be wholly ignorant of anything in regard to City and football in general.

Yeah Sirfoot thats is a very daft comment. were probabley in the same league postion but things look awhole lot better off the pitch.
Katy Posted 23 November 2005 Posted 23 November 2005 Off the field we look pretty sound by all accounts, on field, overall our defence has looked sounder than it was last season BUT CL is tactically inept, ok he has brought in some reasonably good players but he hasnt a clue what to do with them! We dont have any strikers that can score, Joey very kindly popped up with two goals last night FROM MIDFIELD. Elvis has had his chance now and proved that hes very good at being caught offside, now give Hume the same chance, if hes just as shit after the same amount of starts at least we'll know we need a new striker in January. Its not rocket science
gambo Posted 23 November 2005 Posted 23 November 2005 A couple of things i've found on a hearts website recently regarding Levein Levein NEVER turned things around at Hearts, 3rd place was a gimme, due to the poor poor Aberdeen, Hibs, Dundee Utd teams that were about at the time. Levein will bore the socks off you week in week out trying for a 1-0 at home and a 0-0 away, it dosent get any better with time! He will also persist in thinking that he knows a centre half will make a better centre forward and a right back will be great at left back etc.

Hearts are vastly superior to the Levein team which rolled over to the Old Firm time after time and ground out 0-0's and 1-0's against sh!te.
Thracian Posted 23 November 2005 Posted 23 November 2005 Yeh we I thought we should give him more time but looking at things now im slowly turning on him .. he makes Kinorbo captain and doesnt play IMO our best striker Our performances are just terrible no wonder there was only 18 thousand there last night Whether the pro-Leveins - and I've been pro-Levein for exactly 12 months of mostly utter despair - or the anti's are right, one thing's for sure. If we don't arrest the slide in attendances, there won't be a club. I've read the opinions of the Hearts supports and a combination of Leveins tactically nieve performance and bizarre selections - plus the label of dour posted on those Scottish websites convince me that Levein is not the one to take us forward. Quite apart from his record I listen to his interviews and that man has no charisma, nothing in his persona to lift the spirits and make us believe in miracles. In short he's not good enough for Leicester City. Not the Leicester City I have in mind.
