What does success look like next season

They key passage was referencing Wednesday's game:

Leicester’s defensive vulnerability was still on show in the first half, while there was a lack of creativity in the attacking third. These are the two areas Rodgers is most keen to address this summer.

 

Are we all deluded that we still have a good team and this year is just a blip? To win football matches you need to score more goals than the other team, and so its a worry if the two areas we are most keen to to address are scoring goals and not conceding. If we can't do either of those well, then what can we do? (Pass it around not going anywhere?)
